This place is horrible. The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We had our stuff stolen here that was “under the supervision” of the the hotel staff. We kept our luggage and bags in the locked hotel lobby and when we got back to check in one of the hotel employees Ana said that someone stole it and that she watched them “like a hawk”... okay... so how come our stuff got stolen? So they keep the lobby locked but somehow during this time people got in and was able to steal one of our bags?? She then said that she called police and that they never got back to the hotel and what is ever worse is that the place didn’t even try to compensate for the stuff that we lost. The only thing they were able to do is comp one of the nights we stayed and couldn’t offer anything more. They didn’t even seem sympathetic that they lost our stuff. They made it seem like it was our fault and that made this whole situation just unbelievable. They had no integrity and no sincerity to this situation. It was honestly so disrespectful and flat out rude. wtf kind of customer service is that?! The staff here are sketchy. The people they have staying here are also sketchy. The parking under ground is sketchy. There were cars that looked like they have been broken into recently and be prepared to open up the gates for yourself every morning if you are trying to leave as the workers here apparently do not know how to do their job. If you’re staying in room 405 well good luck because there is a ghost in the bathroom. The beds are filthy and the pillows are stuffed with cottontails. The sheets feel dirty and itchy. It smells like weed in the rooms especially in the closet. When we arrived we saw some employees bring down a whole plant of marijuana down the elevator and a bunch of abandoned stuff from the room. This place is sooooo sketchy. Everyone here is super weird and makes you feel uneasy. Do not ever stay here if you have the chance. They should burn this place down. seriously. It is super run down and makes you feel dirty being here. You are better off sleeping on the streets in Tenderloin than being here...
Read moreWe did a last minute reservation and checked in with no problem. Immediately when we got into the room we sat down on the beds to eat our take out and watch TV. After trying to get the television channels to come on, but couldn't, we called the front desk. We spent more time trying to solve the problem but no luck. The front desk guy said that he would be there in about 10 minutes. About 15 minutes later he arrives and spends more time before saying that he is going to return with another remote. He returns about 10 minutes later and says the problem is with the cable box and that it will have to be taken up with the morning manager. I stated that is not going to work as we are only staying one night. I ask for another room. The clerk says no because we sat on the beds and he won't be able to rent the room. He doesn't say that there are no rooms available, he says that the room cannot be rented. I told him that he can't rent the room anyway beause the TV doesn''t work. He says that he would have rented it to someone who doesn't want a television!? The night clerk tells me to take up a discount with the morning manager or I can check out. (The reservation is non-refundable so this is not an option) He then leaves. We notice that the windows were left open and I discover a cigarette butt on the carpet. (see picture) We spent the night without a televison, in a room that smells like smoke, next to what appeared to be a residential room where people were up all night making noise and going in and out and smoking. In the morning I discussed the issues with the morning manager. He asked me how long I had been in the room when talking to the clerk. I estimated an hour. He told me no way was I going to get another room because we had 10 minutes to check out the room before we could change it. So no apology and no discount for a smokers room with no television. Buyer beware! My room was #203, beware...
Read moreAhead of travelling to California, I saw lots of ‘scare’ reviews about motels/hotels on tripadivsor and Google Review. Many claimed how dirty and bad motels were. Nearly all were inaccurate, and lead me to believe there were a lot of fake reviews. Generally the quality of motels in California was good for the price. On each occasion I have tried to leave a balanced review.
Then there is the Inn on Broadway. Just briefly:
Hapless customer service with a lack of knowledge of the motels terms and conditions (particularly regarding payment method) Seems to be frequented by drug users. In the morning I found various paraphernalia including a written ‘self-help’ statement of a crystal meth user. I was at least glad he was receiving some sort of help. BED BUG INFESTATION (see below) Good location in SFm although near a noisy road - take earplugs. Price charged was $129 for a two double bed room
I wrote the following to the Broadway Inn by email, and I have not received a response. Since then I have reported the bed bug infestation to the San Francisco Department of Public Health.
“Hello,
On Monday the 21st I stayed for one night at your motel. On the morning of the 22nd I checked out. I am afraid I must inform you that I suspect that the bed nearest the window in room 102 has an infestation of bed-bugs. During the course of Tuesday the 22nd a large number of insect bites started to show on my skin. I have between 40 to 50 large and irritating insect bites on various parts of my body, including one on my eye-lid. On Tuesday the 22nd I travelled directly to the airport so it is unlikely that I received the bites from elsewhere.
The person I shared a room with slept in the bed nearer the bathroom. She had no insect bites.
Best regards”
I’d give this...
