Worth Every Minute—A Gem in the Making!
Parachute is the kind of bakery you can tell is going to become legendary. Yes, they’re new, and yes, sometimes there’s a bit of a wait—but when the smell of fresh pastries hits you as you walk in, you immediately understand why. Everything here is baked with so much care that it’s worth slowing down for.
I tried their monkey bread and it was hands-down one of the best I’ve had in California. The flavors are balanced, not overly sweet, and you can taste the quality in every ingredient. Even the coffee pairs perfectly with their pastries—smooth, bold, and elevates the whole experience.
The staff deserves special mention. They’re kind, attentive, and even when things are busy, they take the time to make you feel welcome. That hospitality, combined with the artistry of the baked goods, makes it clear Parachute isn’t just another bakery—it’s something special.
Every great spot takes a little time to find its rhythm, and Parachute is already showing signs it’s going to be one of those “if you know, you know” places. My advice? Go early, be patient, and savor the experience. You’ll be...
Read moreOpen til 4, but out of all pastries by noon on day 4, last Sunday. We drove an hour, battled traffic and parking, stood in line (they could have put up a sign or had some staff telling us that they were out of pastries). We had been looking forward to this all week. We decided to order some coffee drinks anyway, because we were so excited to take in this beautiful new spot in the ferry building The counter person could not tell us what the coffee was like – – light or medium roast? He didn’t know and was making up some babble that made no sense. We went with the Yuzu Matcha lemonade, which was very good, although a little sweet, and quite expensive. All to be expected from a Michelin star Chef but the service and the management of opening days should be better. We will come back anyway, because this is a cult experience. The photos of everything we saw looked...
Read moreSo I waited in line since I was here. I went on a Thursday around 8:20 and waited about 15-20min. I like having the display to visually see since I'm a visual person. Prices are high so just be aware!
I only opted for the savory pan suisse ($12) and the vanilla +passionfruit cube (9). With the prices, I wasn't going to get a lot anyways. I thought the savory one was really crispy! Wow, great crunch and I like the mushroom & tomatoes but sadly, I didn't hear him say there was goat cheese. He said cheese. My bad for not reading the sign since I'm not fan of goat cheese. But the crisp was great! The vanilla+passonfruit cube was ok. The passfruit was good but not a lot of it. The cube itself was like bread with stuffing. Worth a try. But would I need to go again,...
