A nightmare if you are vegan.
Ordered a vegan crunchadilla from the vegano menu. Came with the right receipt - order ticket said vegan. Sticker on the container said "vegano - tofu crunch" written by Ian (employee)
After eating half of it a piece of chicken fell out, upon closer inspection I saw the crunchadilla had chicken all over and REAL cheese.
I spent the evening sick, throwing up. Went to hospital.
I went to the restaurant to return the item and get a refund, when confronted the acting manager Ian, his response was: "everyone makes mistakes" - UNBELIEVABLE! if you offer a vegan item make sure it's vegan. People have allergies, religious beliefs. I feel physically sick! Violated!
The worst experience! Stay clear of this place if you are vegan or have serious food allergies. No accountability, no respect. Inept workers.
Oh, and Shane contacted me to tell me that this was the “vegan chicken” - not true! We have taken the sample to a lab to confirm this was real chicken for our case...
Read moreI hate to leave a bad review because I used to love their burritos back when they were still only a food truck. I moved out of the Bay Area a while back, but on my recent trip to SF I was excited to see Sisig had opened a location in the ferry building. I saw someone else had a similar review, but basically my burrito was straight up COLD. Like it was just sitting out on the counter for hours type cold. The cheese was completely unmelted inside, fries and meat were also not warm at all. Tortilla was also cold like it just came out the fridge. Literally the whole burrito was cold. Now it's been a while since I had senor sisig back from their food truck days, but I'm pretty sure the burrito is not supposed to be cold like that??? Maybe it's a one off, but honestly I was pretty disappointed. Because from my memory, this spot was one of my favorite bay area burritos, but this latest burrito I got was just not it. I'm willing to give it another try, but hopefully this isn't a...
Read moreMan, Señor Sisig has fallen off, hard. I used to enjoy going to the food truck when they parked in various places in SoMa and the Mission, but I wonder if the expansion and corporatization of the brand has eroded the quality and attention to detail.
I had the Tosilog burrito and it was small, bland, and room-temperature. Despite asking for the ‘spicy’ spice level, this burrito was sweeter than a bite of baklava. Even after dousing it with sriracha (and the recommended salted vinegar), it was still way too sweet, cold, and overall not enjoyable. For $18, I expect a lot more.
Lastly, I tried paying with inKind and neither cashier was aware of the app/program (and it took waiting 10 minutes for them to call their manager to ask about it), so it’s clear that employee training and enablement is not taken seriously here.
This was a very disappointing experience overall. Gone are the days of Señor Sisig being an SF...
