Saw this place in Google and read the review. Decided to give it a try for my breakfast. Just about 5 minutes walked from my Hotel. Place not too bad. Though a little smell of Bamboo Shoot... Service so so.. Nothing to shout about. No greetings of good morning, nothing.. Sat me down, took my order that it. When the guy came to clear my plate, didn't even asked if I had finished or can he clear it. No refill of coffee order until this young lady came with a machine asking me to pay up. When she realized my body language, she quickly asked if I need more coffee.. I was emm.... I didn't asked for the bill yet, why are they in a hurry... I seen others are eating and some finished eating and chatting... Maybe I am Asian? I paid up and even gave them a 18% tips... Just before I stood up and leave, a Old Lady walked pass me, she looked into my eyes and smile and greet me Good Morning. I believed she is Pat, the owner of the restaurant. I am sad to say that the friendliness and smile of Pat did not pass down to her workers and servers. Yes, I agree with some reviewers here too. The price also...
Read moreMy New Hidden Gem of North Beach/Fishermans Wharf, San Francisco. I am so disappointed at myself for not finding this place sooner after yrs of frequenting SF and calling it my 2nd home. I was recommended to go check this place out this morning as I was at an early appointment half a block on Colombus Ave. OMG OMG OMG, if u hungry for some good breakfast and lunch menu cafe style from at 7.30-2pm, I recommend checking out their menu and get yourself there to try it out. I usually like to go a few times before I can recommend a place, but these guys are superb. Pat herself greeted me and introduced herself. Her staff were pretty spot on and very attentive, and the food was just how I expected it to be and more besides. I think this is gonna be my go to place as not only the Powel Mason Cabel cars goes rite in front of it and stops 1/2 a Block away, they have my favorite Trader Joes around the corner and Fishermans Wharf a block from this establishment. I am definitely going again to try out more from the menu in the next week or two....

I had a chance to stop by Pat's Cafe for breakfast during the work week. Even though I wasn't very hungry, the Polk Street Omelet caught my eye, so I ordered it along with a cup of regular coffee. The omelet is made with bacon, ham, bell peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese, and it comes with home fries and your choice of toast.
The coffee was still great! I loved its flavor, just as I did on my last visit a few years back. The omelet was as good as I hoped it would be. While sitting and sipping my coffee, I noticed how the staff interacted with other customers. I was so impressed with their attention to every table that I had to compliment Ricardo, who served my table, and the young lady who seemed to be the manager. They were both so attentive that it made me wish I could hire them if I were a restaurant owner!
The place is cozy and well-maintained. The service is excellent, the coffee is awesome, and the food...
