Pete has been a staple in the mission neighborhood for years and years. The menu is remain the same very basic and it works. Fabulous rotisserie Chicken & Ribs with baked potato and coleslaw is my favorite dish. Also Pete's offers a spaghetti that is so good. My granddaughter Goes Bananas over the spaghetti. The opportunity to write this review actually got me excited. I can't say enough. Although I will warn you he often runs out of Chicken & Ribs and you have to wait around until the next ones are cooked and ready. If he does run out of Chicken & Ribs and you don't want to wait he's got you covered. He offers a Hofbrau style roast beef ham and turkey cuz you can have with baked potato and salad and bread or you can make a sandwich out of it. If you pass by and saw it I wonder if it's good in there believe me it's very good. Pete and his family haven't changed their menu in 40 years. 40 years says good things. If Pete or the family sees this review they will know who wrote it just because I mentioned my granddaughter and the spaghetti. Yes Pete it's me maybe we can work out a free plate for such a nice review. readers get on down there to 20th and Mission...
Read moreI'm so lucky...or unlucky depending on how fat I get...that I get to walk by Pete's everyday going home from work. The intoxicating smell of the ribs and chicken drenched in their homemade bbq sauce would make anyone salivate. The only thing I don't really like from here is the spaghetti since it is a little watery and the potatos. The potato is my own issue since I'm not a big fan already and then I see them slab on the butter and I just want feel...
Read moreThe eats are good, the eats are cheap, all of this, thanks to Pete's.
My friend and I got ourselves a huge plate of BBQ spare ribs for $10.79. The prices of other entrees and sides are modestly priced as well--take a look at Ed U.'s menu picture for the deets.
This hole-in-the-wall not-so-authentic joint ain't serving up fall-off-the-bone ribs, but there's a nice variety of fat and chew to keep all cheap eaters amused. The homemade BBQ sauce that's offered at the end of the lunch cafeteria line is free and is worth a try. Tangy!
CASH ONLY.
Cheap plates of meat that can't be beat--that's Pete's!
