After kindly trying to explain to the bouncers that a group of my friends were on their way to the bar, I attempted to negotiate a fair cover charge. A simple ā€œnoā€ would have been a perfectly acceptable answer. However, a heavier bouncer with a nose ring told me I wasn’t ā€œpretty enoughā€ to get into the club. The slimmer bouncer then proceeded to call my friends and me "ugly" and "poor." They continued yelling insults and calling us degrading names. We immediately decided to leave. Standing on the curb under a cabana, trying to call an Uber since it was raining, we overheard a group of girls nearby, visibly upset, who shared that the bouncers had treated them horribly too. As we were figuring out our rides, the same slim bouncer pushed us into the street, demanding we leave and continuing with the cruel name-calling. He shoved one of us so hard that she fell to the ground. I am appalled that any man would physically put his hands on a woman and speak to her in such a degrading way, especially in public. When I spoke to the manager, he seemed genuinely shocked and claimed this wasn’t typical behavior from the bouncers. However, after reading through numerous negative reviews online, I find that hard to believe. Ladies and gentlemen, if you value respect and safety, avoid this place at all costs.

Me and my group is friends were dancing and the security lady claimed that one of my friends was vaping. We told her we’re not vaping she asked us to look for the vape among others and started dragging him out. We told her that we’ll come out and if she doesn’t find the vape on us she got to leave us alone. She still aggressively started pushing him outside. This is when I started recording her to prove that she was at fault to accuse us and hold her accountable to her actions. At this moment she had the audacity to snatch away my phone and when I grabbed it back she started pushing me out too when I was walking out by myself. She repeatedly started shoving me even when I was fed up and leaving. My friend recorded this and she snatched away the phone and pushed her down the stairs where she broke her heel. I see that the owner had replied to other reviews. It’s easy to dismiss negative reviews assuming your security is always right. But here is proof of the incident. No one, not even the cops have the liberty to snatch away your phones when we’re trying to protect ourselves. Now that you have proof of the incident, prove that you really care about your bar and the people that come there! Feel free to reach out for more videos from my friends.

I liked this place a lot. Some great things about this place: 1. We went on a Saturday night, and the cover charge was 10 dollars, pretty affordable. 2. The music while mostly rap, was interspersed with some cool 80s music as well. I’m not a fan of dancing to rap, but Aha’s Take on me gets me grooving every time. The DJ seemed to have good taste in music. 3. They’ve two levels—one ground level and the other first level(the VIP level as they call it), so lots of room to dance. Having said that, it does get crowded and you might get pushed around and need to watch where you’re standing or dancing. 4. There’s a pizza place not very far from here, so a ready place to eat after you come out of the club. 5. Drinks aren’t super expensive, we tried the Velvet Inferno and Raven Mule—liked both of them. I’m taking off a star because the person who was in charge of letting people on the VIP level acted very rudely with us when one of our friends who went downstairs to use the restroom tried to come back up. I don’t know what his name was, but there’s no need to be so rude with your customers. I hope they look into that. Overall a decent experience, would go again if I’m in the area.

This club was okay EXCEPT for the terrible experience we had with one of the security guards at the entrance. He was this short Hispanic looking guy with a beanie. I don’t remember his name so that’s why I gave a description. Anyway, this guy had apparently never seen an ID from Kentucky before so he immediately thought my friend’s ID was a fake. The picture was a little faded because the ID is old but you can still clearly see it is her. The worst part about the whole experience was the unnecessary rude comments he made to her and he escalated the situation so quickly. She was calm and nice the entire time but this guy immediately gave her attitude and was rude to all three of us as we tried to explain to him that her ID is valid. Instead of asking us for any other form of identification and explaining to us why he could not accept her current ID, he went on to say he was going to confiscate her ID and then he made a snide judgement towards her for not have a passport. He said, ā€œ how do you not have a passport! Everyone has a passportā€. This is when I interjected and told him that NOT everyone has a passport because to be able to travel is a luxury and why would someone have a passport if they can’t travel. This comment infuriated me because my friend has been living in poverty for years so she never dreamed of being able to go out of the country which is why she never got a passport, so on top of him making her feel bad for that he also continued to be rude and make unnecessary comments like these. Another security guard finally took over and we had to show them a birth certificate scan just so they would let her in and even after all of that they didn’t apologize for their rude behavior AND as we were finally going inside the short security guard made another comment saying we didn’t need a stamp to enter because they ā€œwouldn’t forget usā€, as if we were the problem. Honestly, we were about to leave to another club altogether because of this childish unprofessional AHOLE. I really hope they fire him because his treatment towards us was way off and completely unnecessary. Just to avoid this guy, we are never going back to this place. There are plenty of other clubs in SF, so pls avoid this place if you want to avoid an unpleasant experience like this one and potentially having your ID confiscated...

I have mixed feelings about this place. Any place that plays 90s/hiphop/r&b and its music videos(!!) warrants an automatic approval from me. That coupled that with a relaxed dress code and a dance floor definitely make this my kind of place. BUT as always, there are downsides. Drinks are expensive (what's new?), $10 cover after a certain time, there's only two single stall bathrooms for women in this ENTIRE PLACE, and the top floor is typically jam packed, making it hard to dance. These downsides are fairly common across the board for all bars/clubs so I guess these could be overlooked if I'm a) drunk or b) having a really good time.

However, bottle service is a different story. I came here recently to celebrate a friend's birthday and we ordered bottle service. What I liked was that we could specify our group size beforehand and have them all added to the guest list. Not sure if we could add more, but we were able to add 20 people to our guest list. Mind you, that's 20 people who could come and skip paying cover. Thought it was nice that they set up birthday signs around our table, gave the birthday girl a little birthday tiara and both birthday celebrants a couple vouchers for no cover. Those were pretty much the only things I 'liked' about bottle service.

The bottle service itself was pretty mediocre, and that's me being polite. Our juice and soda carafes were empty fairly quick and were probably only refilled maybe twice the entire time we were there. It took forever to flag down someone to refill our drinks and even longer for them to come back with it. We killed our 2 bottles very early on in the night and decided to bite the bullet and purchase a 3rd, but even that took a long time also. At one point, I even forked over $3 at the bar to buy soda because our runner was taking too long. Having 20+ people standing around waiting for the bottle, cups and juice/soda is just unacceptable, especially when you're paying money for it. The redeeming factor in all this though, is that these issues were brought up to management by the birthday celebrants and they were able to come up with a compromise.

Overall, just the music alone makes this a pretty good place. Just skip the bottle service unless you wanna spend your entire...

Man I don’t know what people do but people only leave reviews when they for some reason have a negative experience, so I’m gonna leave a club review for once to say I had a damn great time, and I’m posting a video to prove it.

This was a great bar, pricey drinks I guess, but super fair to pay a little extra at a place so lit; Instead of some boring sit down place. Cover was $15, but coat check was free so worth it.

Came here with my girlfriend, we had a great time. Super short line, got in quick. Bouncers were not aggressive, staff was not aggressive, people were not aggressive. The dance floor was a little cramped, but nothing uncomfortable there’s space to find, and space outside of it if dance floors are not for you. Music was phenomenal, fun listening to pop big hit throwbacks; nostalgia dopamine. With large screen playing the music video which is super cool. We made new friends. Felt really safe and friendly. Reasonable wait to use the bathrooms, and the bathrooms WERE CLEAN. Can you believe that? Super rare at a club. Also fairly closeby to Mission St for the after party snack burrito!

10/10 and coming again. Will be here this Friday and maybe Saturday too. Me and my girlfriend are new to San Francisco and this help us have a great first impression. Were very experienced with clubs & bars, and this is definitely in the top 5. San fran pleasantly surprised us. Great...
