The Red Cafe is where he promised us breakfast, and I was all in! Twas non other than Pinkus Magoo that said he'd spot for breakfast, but...Thar be a catch. ..Ol Pinkus needed a Joint Wasser for his Pixitillier so he could go to Burning Man and be the talk of the town, and in his words...I be the only 89 year old that can still wag his tail with the best of um! First time in the Red Cafe for me. The Red Cafe is a pleasant place full of local flavors and friendly neighbors, where most people know each other's names. The breakfast was simple, fresh and delicious, delivered hot under an unassuming smile. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Went there for the first time thinking I was gonna enjoy some Mexican chilaquiles which I love so much but it was rather different and disappointing. They had hardly any flavor unless you add that green salsa which they serve on the side. You get a 2oz ceramic ramekin of each: green salsa, sour cream and beans. Was craving more beans. It was underwhelming. The club sandwich was delicious and so were the French fries. Coffee was very watered down diner coffee, not good. Not sure if I want to return here or not. I have mixed feelings.

Good spot for tasty, filling breakfasts. I LOVED the oatmeal pancakes and liked the corned beef hash (though it's not quite as exciting as it looks). The eggs, sausage, and toast were nice but standard. Portions were very large - prepare for leftovers unless you're very hungry. Service was efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere was nice - lots of locals coming in and chatting, giving it a real neighborhood feel. Décor was simple but nice, and interior was breezy and pleasant. Good spot for breakfast in the mission.

This place is a great find. Looks not so great from the outside, but this is your typical abundant breakfast place. We loved it. First time we had the pancake mix plate with eggs and sausages - yummy and the portions were pretty big we couldn't finish our pancakes which were huge hahaha. 2nd time we were meeting friends for breakfast so we immediately remembered our lovely experience in this place and took our friends there. I can't get over how many healthy and creative choices their menu has - they have vegan, vegetarian, healthy meat options, avocado in your omelette or mexican style eggs so all four of us ordered different type of eggs and they were all delicious choices - i don't think there's anything you can go wrong with the menu chocies. What more would you want from life? Oh yes they serve fresh orange juice and is delicious. Take your appetite there NOW! Did I mention this place is totally...

Cheap, but not all that great for brunch. Had the plantains, coffee, pancakes, and a cheese/spinach omlette. Agree with others about the music: they really crank up the overplayed pop songs (Miley Cirus, Katie Perry, Far East Movement, etc). Not that I don't like pop music, but it's not the type of music I envision having a relaxing Sunday brunch to.

The pancakes were not memorable. The plantains were pretty good, but I should have ordered something savory on the side (like hashed browns) to take the sweet edge off.

My boyfriend got the omlette with spinach and cheese. He asked for feta, but they had few options and he went with American. The omlette was a bit on the wet and drippy side, and hilariously enough, no cheese was inside the omlette. Instead, a slice of Kraft was perched on top of the soggy...

The tortillas in my chilaquiles were burnt toasted, and the eggs mixed in it were sparse. Only a tiny bit of egg stuck to a couple of my burnt chips. The server said that’s how they make chilaquiles there. So I sent back the burnt chips and ordered something else. The refried beans are completely liquid, thin, almost like water. When I let Sandra, the owner, know I didn’t want to pay for the burnt chips plate, she got so angry! She was extremely upset! After my husband calmly and patiently talked her out of it, she gave in but said she refuse service to us in the future. She was so mad after, she stood there with her arms crossed, saying stuff, and gave me a hand signal that means “your momma” in Latin America when we were ready to walk out. I do not recommend this place. Straight...
