The first of all I want to clarify that although you can get food next door at sushi delight, that that's actually another business that is a joining.
It's my favorite karaoke club, they have a very wide selection of songs you can choose from and more than one karaoke system in use makes it so that you have more choices than literally anywhere else I've gone through karaoke.
The staff is friendly and helpful, and the KJ's all have their different personalities and are very cheerful and entertaining. The bar staff is professional.
It is a very LGBTQ inclusive and friendly environment, and although the crowd is mixed straight and queer people it is a historically gay bar.
It is a cash only bar, if you are a non-drinker there are a lot of non-alcoholic beverages, not all of them are on the menu so do let them know that you're looking for non-alcoholic options.
Friday and Saturday are usually really busy and crowded, and Thursday and Sunday can be but aren't always it depends on whether it's summer, whether or not there's a holiday, whether colleges is out and stuff like that.
Mondays are usually pretty quiet and is the day when regulars and karaoke Divas like to hang out because there's a quick rotation. Wednesdays can be quiet or busy you never really know. They are currently...
Read moreLiterally my FAVORITE place in San Francisco! A total gem, I’ve been coming here every visit to SF for the past 15 years and since moving here from NYC I’ve moved down the street. The MINT is a magical place, inclusive, fill of joy - you can feel the community and love here. A perfect place to celebrate your birthday - reserve on their website, and you can bring in a cake, order sushi (vegan options!) from next door, and they’ll even have the whole place sing happy birthday to you just request it!
My suggestion to have the MOST fun and magical time - come and cheer on strangers! Really listen and sing along with people you’ve never met and will never see again. Compliment them after their song, there’s no better therapy for this overly tech distracted world right now than supporting other humans and enjoying music together.
Important - there’s no cover (vs private karaoke rooms) so to support this indie business remember it’s a 2 drink minimum per person! Cash only, but they have an ATM. To sing a Song, you must tip the songmaster in cash. This is like any service business, support the amazing staff ♥️
I’m so grateful to the mint and their staff for existing, for creating some of my best memories of the last decade. Thank you all...

First things first, it is cash only so stop by the ATM before you get there. They do have an ATM inside, but just in case it isn't working, and to avoid unnecessary fees. I've been here a couple times and I have to say that once you get past the tight ship that the KJ drives it really is a great spot for open room karaoke! I called and reserved a spot for my birthday and we had a prime location at the back bar! The drinks are reasonably priced and the song selection is great! Don't let the books fool you! They have plenty of tracks not listed, just politely ask the KJ about them. Also note that there are some songs he will only let one person karaoke a night! I think that's awesome because I don't want to continually hear "Don't Stop Believing" or "Bohemian Rhapsody" multiple times in a night. Get there early or go during the week to be able to sing more songs.
Side note: If you're hungry the sushi place next door will...
