Casanova Lounge — Restaurant in San Francisco

For the record, I love this bar. atmosphere is 10/10 and the drinks are great. However, the bartender there on 03/07/2025 in the evening with the hat, dragon tattoo, and beard was quite rude to me when I was trying to get a drink. The bar was busy and they were serving a-lot of patrons so I tried to wave them down politely and they looked at me, rolled their eyes, and said in a condescending tone " just because you're waving your arms at me doesn't mean I'm serving you". Granted I'm a reasonable person so I was chill and didn't escalate or say anything because they were probably stressed out. But regardless I felt that they were pretty rude and gave me attitude for no good reason when I was just trying to order a drink for a myself. My friend and I had a deeply unsettling experience at Casanova tonight that I need to share.

We were excited to try out this bar, but that excitement quickly turned to disbelief. After waiting patiently for our turn to order drinks, the bartender made a point of only serving the white male customers around us, completely ignoring my friend and me, along with every other person of color at the bar.

It wasn't a mistake; it was a pattern. When he finally came back to run a tab for the people he did serve, I called him out on it. His response? He pretended he "didn't see" any of us, blaming the crowd—a crowd where the only people skipped were people of color.

Visted 19th May 2018. 2 bartenders, 1 great and the other useless. The bartender with a beard, we couldn't get his attention at all sitting at bar despite the fact the bar wasn't busy, we had 10 mins of being completely ignored. The female bartender with nose piercing spotted us after that and she was amazing all night thereafter and we tipped her well as such. At some point in the night the guy with the beard served us, was implore throughout and then when it so came to the bill he DEMANDED A TIP, said "where's the tip? You know here in the States we need tips to pay rent?!!".

The female bartender never asked for tips but we tipped her. The male bartender with a beard demanded tips upfront before bill settlement and got no tips.
