Peet's Coffee — Restaurant in San Jose

Great coffee; original blends. Can have a queue at times. Edit 4/19: spoke to the store manager and employees about my following complaint. They said their policy is that they won’t ask anyone to leave unless they are bothering someone (e.g., arguing, escalating). I insisted that they need to have personal hygiene standards even if a customer (e.g., a homeless person) buys a drink and sits in the store.

HOWEVER, Peets does not vet those who come into the store. Sometimes you can be bulldozed by poor old single ladies and men who have nothing better to do hog your time and won't let you go. They won't let you read your book or spend your time. This is a major hassle. They are loud, go to everyone speak about conspiracy theories and waste other's time. I've been coming to this petes for 2 years nearly every day! Superb customer service. The same core of employees have worked there as long as I've been going with new faces here and there but from what I understand they do use the facility to train employees for other locations. I couldn't tell you the last time I actually had to give my order they know it by heart and most of the time have it ready for me by the time I pay. This Petes location can get extremely busy however the Charisma and energy of the staff make it worth the wait. Every day that I come here I see the interaction between staff and patrons many times knowing each other by first name basis. This touch of care and personal interaction goes a long way in my decision of being a faithful and regular Petes customer. You guys rock! I love this coffee shop. I have been to other Peets and nothing compares to the customer service I get here. Employees are helpful and most of them very friendly. Ranulfo is the manager and when he is there I hear him welcome the customers he sees coming in, and that makes me smile no matter how sleepy I can be. I can go to closer Peets but I prefer to travel the distance. I love to support businesses who care about customers. This shop is spacious and I always find a place to sit. It is clean including the bathrooms. My roommate also prefers to go there even if it takes 15-20 or more minutes to get there. Oh, the Banana Nut bread they sell here is the best...
