Let me begin by saying 1. I love cheese and 2. I am accustomed to American Italian cuisine, so it's not that I don't like American Italian. Today was my first time ordering from Rosie's NY Pizza. I expected American Italian which is not usually something I turn my nose to, so I hoped it was good. Today, an $18 vegetable lasagne went into the garbage after I ate 3 small bites. :( The amount of cheese that has to be artificial or made with more cellulose than dairy was absurd. You can see it in the photo. I pulled it away and put it in the lid to try to get to the lasagne. It wasn't melty or stringy. You could see the shredded striations but it was just a blob of cheese that was not flavorful. I honestly don't know how to explain it but when eating the actual lasagne you didn't taste individual vegetables, you didn't taste the noodles, and you didn't taste any sauce. You tasted garlic big time but that was it. The piece wasn't heated all the way through and I was just at the end (you can see where I cut it - that was the only cut I made before tossing it. I felt like it was a piece of food to put in my mouth but the texture wasn't enjoyable either so I figured I would save myself the calories and I honestly couldn't convince my brain I should eat it. I don't like to razz places this bad but they have been around for quite awhile so this is surprising. I would recommend not having it on the menu as it was truly the worst lasagne I've ever had, I would prefer frozen. 😔 The garlic knots were very good. They were soft and definitely had garlic but it would not bring me back. My boss ordered the chicken parm and she said sadly it was tough. I think they have regulars to keep them around but I could not with good conscience recommend them based on today's...

For non-chain restaurant pizza, this place has the absolute best pizza I've ever had. It ranks up there with authentic New York pizza, but the reason I gave them 5 stars was after my first bits of the garlic knots and pizza, I told my wife, "THIS is fresh, well made pizza, made from scratch!"
Why did I say that? I'm not a master or professional baker, but I've been baking all kinds of breads, European and American, for nearly 10 years, including home-made pizza. This place's dough tastes like they just made it that day, just like my breads and pizzas.
When you've been cooking for 5-10 people at home for 30 years as I have, you don't just go out to any restaurant. We only go to restaurants that make stuff that we don't know how or don't want to make. The few times we pay someone else to make food that we are pretty much experts at making, we are very critical. It has to at least meet our own standards for what we can make. Anything of less than very good quality will never get our business again.
We've ordered from Rosie's four times in the last year, and every time it's been wonderful, exceeding my own standards every time. If I had found anything at all wrong with anything we bought from them, I would point it out. Every time it's like I made it, but like the best...
Read moreSo my family and I were hungry one day and I decided to give Rosie's New York style pizza a shot. I would always pass by and wondered what the food and service would be. So we go in and sit down at the only booth available, and it's right next to the bar with the owner at the bar. It wasn't busy at all. Just a group of old timers having a lunch and me and my family dining in. We take our order and we wait. The salad and garlic knots were served. So we eat, because we're hungry. And we wait for about 40 minutes and are getting restless and wonder if the pizza is ready yet. So we check with the cashier that served our salad and garlic knots if the pizza is ready. The cashier seemed to forget that we were waiting for our pizza and the owner behind the bar did not check on us and thought we already got our pizza. The pizza was never made and we had to wait even longer. At this point we were ready to go and I started getting a migraine because I was so hungry. When they finally served our pizza, we were dissatisfied with the pizza and the service and wasn't a pleasant experience. I don't understand how they forgot about our pizza when it wasn't busy and we were sitting next to the owner. BTW, instead of offering more garlic knots I would have rather had...
