It had been a while since I last visited Uncle John’s Pancake House for breakfast, but it did not disappoint. I went on a weekday morning, and seating was quick and easy—my friend and I were greeted warmly and seated within a minute of walking in. The restaurant had a nice buzz, semi-busy but with plenty of available seating both indoors and outdoors.

The menu is straightforward and easy to navigate, with something for everyone. I decided on the Big Boy Breakfast, which comes with three eggs, all three types of meat, hash browns, and your choice of griddle item or toast. I went with the blueberry batter pancakes topped with blueberries and a sweet blueberry glaze—they were fluffy, flavorful, and absolutely hit the spot. The portion was generous enough to share, though you’ll want to savor them all to yourself.

We also ordered the Benedict with chipotle hollandaise, which was just as impressive. The sauce had the perfect balance of smokiness and spice, elevating a classic dish into something memorable. Everything we ordered came out hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked—nothing underdone or overdone.

The staff was attentive in the right way—checking in on us when needed but also giving us space to enjoy our meal. Despite the steady flow of customers, they managed to keep up great service without making us feel rushed.

Overall, Uncle John’s Pancake House remains a solid go-to for a hearty and satisfying breakfast in Santa Clara. Great food, friendly service, and fair prices. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a classic breakfast spot with some standout dishes. I’ll definitely be...

Picked Uncle John's at random by asking my phone to find "Breakfast Near Me." I was in San Jose with my wife for a Boise State football game. We were given the choice of a 15-minute wait to be seated inside, or we could be seated outside immediately. It wasn't cold, so we chose to be seated outside. They had several industrial space heaters arranged strategically. It was comfy for me, but my wife sat next to a heater and was happy. I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs over easy. It came with a choice of crepes, waffles, or pancakes. I chose the crepes. My wife had bacon, eggs, hash browns, and crepes. She also ordered Irish Coffee with Bailey's. The chicken fried steak was exactly how I like it, crunchy on the outside but still tender enough to be cut with a fork. I ordered my hash browns crispy, and they were very crispy. The entire meal was very well prepared. I need to give a special shout-out to the crepes. They were delicious, light, and fluffy. The berry whipped cream that came with them was perfect. The price was very reasonable. The service was attentive without being annoying. They were busy, and the wait staff was hustling, but my coffee cup never was empty. If you are looking for home cooked food, reasonably priced, and good service, then go to...

4.8!

The hubbie and I reaaaaaally enjoy this place! There are 2 locations in South Bay, one in Campbell and one in San Jose. Their food is always consistent at both locations, and the portion is humongous! The pricing is reasonable as well especially with the large portions. It’s a bit harder to find parking at the Campbell location during prime time (weekend brunch times). There are more parking at the San Jose location with the nearby neighborhood. The service is efficient and quick.

I always get the big boy breakfast, because I love all the proteins. My husband ordered country fried steak for this visit, and he changes his order each time and has no complaints for each dish.

Some orders come with a hot griddle side and you have options to pick between 4 types and customize it to your liking. I have ordered pancakes, crepes, and waffles. My favorite so far is the chocolate chip waffles (SO GOOD!!). The waffles were perfect consistency and crunch. Crepes were my least favorite, the flavor and texture weren’t like crepes I’ve had before. The spread that came with it also wasn’t the greatest combo with the crepes.

Bottom line: Good price, large portions, good flavors. Will keep coming back!

Nowadays, there isn’t too many places that are well known for having some of the most buttery pancakes & tastiest waffles. This lovely establishment has two locations in Campbell & on the Alameda with plenty of seating for large or small parties. Picky eaters will manage to find some thing to choose from on the menu, wide variety to choose from with many substitute options. We ordered the classic breakfast which comes with 2 eggs, 3 sausage, hash brown and a waffle. Alongside that also ordered the Carne Asada Chilaquiles (very tasty/fresh) which I subbed the refried beans for rice.
