The place atmosphere is cool and the chillout music helps a lot. The servers were very attentive and nice. The rest is just bad...
This is a small place with 5 or 6 tables cramped in it. I went with my girl to this place and it was so cramped the 2 tables beside us joined in the conversation.
The place is so unreasonably expensive. The cheapest main dish was $20 and most of the dishes are fried rice. Main dishes should be more varied. Peruvian food is usually very refreshing colorful and tasty. Asian food usually is creative and flavorful. This place combines the worst parts of each cuisine. I got fried rice and beef with an strange sauce ($22) that was not that good. My girl had something similar that was fried rice with meat in the rice ($22). The house dip sauce was good. Maybe i should have tried the entrees but i was afraid there were not enough.
Drinks were good, they surprised us but there are creative bars at Loiza Street with better drinks for the same price or less. Even if the food were good, the place tiself, the place location, food ingredients and creative level doesn't reach the high cuisine prices they charge.
EDIT: I will like to add that the owner replies to constructive criticism by just being plain rude. Since he likes rude replies here is one for him...
You are right, Burger King is a better option. The one at Loiza Street or the one at Old San Juan have a better view and location than your restaurant. Also i probably be more comfortable and have more space in a Burger King. Also the fired rice they make at Panda Express is better than yours and probably the chimichurri sauce at Pollo Tropical is better than the sauce you...
Read moreGot there at 2:30pm, we were served at 4:17pm. After an hour of waiting, we were told they were out of the appetizers we asked for. Bartender was really nice, recommended Lucid Dream for me since I like no sweet, fresh drinks. Unfortunately, all I could taste was the simple syrup. Waitress exchanged it for another which I gave to my mom. We received the food and couldn’t appreciate the plate, were we sat it has a green neon color (plate looked all brown). I couldn’t notice my filet mignon was rare until later (I asked medium). It was not the greatest experience, the meat stank. I still don’t know if it was the meat or mushroom sauce but the smell was like letrine. Owner came to the table and I explained the issue. He said he didn’t have a smell appreciation and since he didn’t eat meat, he didn’t know how it should smell. “It’s probably since you asked it rare”. I said I asked for medium but it shouldn’t have smelled like that anyways. He said medium and rare is the same thing.not a place I would recommend or go back to.
UPDATE: Thanks for responding Asia de Lima! And I thank you for showing the package, it did say Best by June and we are on July btw. The meat didn’t smell like blood, I was pretty clear how it smelled 🤢. I gave the plate so you guys could smell what I smelled of the “10%” left of the meat as you say, but I still had a lot of rice and that wasn’t returned. That meal I did not finish. I don’t expect complimentary meals or desserts, but yes a good smelling and tasty meal worthy of what was paid for since the beginning. This is a review based on what was given to me, not...
Read moreThis Thursday, I decided to end my pandemic lockdown by going to Asia de Lima. My reinitiation to restaurant dining started with a huge bang!
The place is small and cozy. The tones and style of the decoration is inviting and intimate.
I was recieved by young and courteous man that instructed me with the security arrangements of our new post Covid reality.
Once in my reserved seating, a super cool gal gave me the introduction to this unique place. Asia de Lima is an Asian influenced Peruvian Siempre tienes una excusa in which you can enjoy great pizza and pasta.
Yes! You heard me right!
You can start with a scrumptious Fish Ceviche (with an unexpected hint of ginger) and down it with a classic Pisco Sour served in a classy martini glass.
And here comes the curve ball!!
I went ahead (motivated by my excellent server) and asked for a pizza as an entree. A few minutes later, a beautiful personal pie embellished with fresh arugula, pepperoni, cheese and Asian style chicken arrived. I had a blast with this cacophony of tastes that mingled pleasantly in my mouth.
I even had space for a Tres Leches that was to die for!!!
In synthesis, I'm already planning my return to this culinary gem en the middle of Santurce.
Please, be advised!! Go with special people!!
Great food, always tastes better when...
