Checking into the Looking Glass Hotel was like stumbling upon a hidden gem in San Juan! Nestled in just the right spot, it's a quick Uber hop to both Old San Juan's historic charm and the sun-soaked beaches. With fantastic restaurants just a stroll away, my taste buds were in for a treat every evening. From local flavors to international cuisine, there's something to satisfy every craving. The staff at Looking Glass Hotel was friendly and super helpful, they made me feel right at home from the moment I stepped through the door. The rooms were spacious, stylish, and equipped with the best air conditioners— I stayed cool as a cucumber even when the sun was doing its best to turn up the heat. Overall, my stay at Looking Glass Hotel was great. Whether you're here to explore San Juan's rich history, laze on the beach, or simply indulge in great food, this place checks all the boxes. Can't wait to come back for another round of sun, sand, and hospitality!

I booked a last minute trip to San Juan. I hadn't been here for 20+ years. The hotel is a great find. It is very close to the airport and the historic building is very well done. Simple design and access. I chose a suite which has a sitting room to work and a separate bedroom. It would be great for a couple or for a small family. Lots of space for storage and even a refrigerator in the closet. The room was very clean and everything is well maintained. I found the outlets a little hard to access for work. There are also two ACs, one in each room. No amenities other than an ice machine. Coffee shops nearby and a grocery store that is a short walk. It was easy to move around using the ride share services. The area is busy and it is a high traffic area so use the earplugs that the hotel provides. It's a really nice and accessible place.

Great for female solo travelers! I stayed here for one night after getting in late. I arrived at the hotel around midnight, but the owners had made sure I had the key code to the front door, had detailed instructions on where to find my room, and had the key code to my room. I felt very safe inside. Note that there are only stairs and no elevator that I saw, which may be an accessibility issue for some. The room was cozy and the bathroom (especially the shower) was so nice after a long day of travel. Some occasional loud motorcycles outside, but they have SmartTVs, so I was able to put on some white noise from YouTube and fell right asleep. Close to the airport and other locations as well. If I was staying longer in San Juan I would definitely stay here again!

I would have rated this different if only my after I left the hotel experience didn’t ruin my initial experience. Upon my arrival, the front desk helped me settle and even carried my bag upstairs as the hotel don’t have elevator and most of the rooms are upstairs. They were friendly and even suggested places to go eat, tour etc. The hotel was clean and modern but inside the room you can tell there are not enough air coming in and the mold from outside and the building being old got to me. The room were on the smaller size in regard to space and the front desk leave in the afternoon and there is no one there late to help. There isn’t any parking space. The fridge and ice is on the 4th floor for everyone to use. No fridge or microwave in the rooms. The main reason why I did not give them a full rating was that after I left they charged me extra fee for damages in the room that I was not aware of. Random extra charges and when I reached out they claim something got scratched and a damage which made no sense. Be aware and check your account when you leave. Also take pictures or video of the room when you come inside day 1 and the last day to avoid any extra charges for no reason. Have them confirm the room is good before leaving. Other then the extra charge when I left the experience while I was there was good. Be careful outside of the hotel. There are homeless people wandering around. Just be aware.

This is my respond to the hotel comment below as I was not able to leave a different respond to them.

The damages were a complete lie. No visitor came to my room and nothing happened when I was there or no accident happen so that’s how I knew you guys lied. How can I damage something without knowing? It is impossible and you guys were coming to clean the room daily and did not noticed anything until I left ? Really ? So the damages happened the day I left? How do I even know if the pictures were from the room I stayed in and not from another person’s room ? You guys are lucky I don’t reside in PR cause I would of came back and will say walk me over to see the damages and if nothing is in the room to proof I could of press charges because it is very wrong to do things like that to people and yes you paid me back because I mentioned I will get my bank to investigate this further. Thank you for doing the right thing. What you guys did is fraudulent. No need to treat people in that maner especially when you see they came and were nice and wanted no trouble. I did everything the right way and even used my own towel, sheets e.tc. I barely used your provided hotel supplies. I was not only shocked but very upset you took more money out of my account. Hopefully you won’t do it to someone else. I chose to leave the comment bc I am a very honest person who read reviews before booking hotels and I felt like I owe it to people to come here and be honest regarding my full experience and not leave anything out. No one is perfect but it is okay to admit you are wrong. I could of left a lower rating and I didn’t because I know you guys were nice to me when I came but yeah we all work hard for our money and I don’t let people rip me off for no reason. If I had done something wrong I would have been the first to come and say this broke or this happen and not complain when I got charged but not doing anything wrong and getting blamed out of thing air is too much. I spent a lot of money staying with yall and that should have been enough especially since the room as you guys stated was the smallest you had. I wish you guys the best and hope you do better next time. Better yet inspect the room before customers leave so you can show them the scratch or the damage. Don’t wait until they leave and send random pictures...

I'm so pleased I found The Looking Glass Hotel! I took a chance when booking this hotel (via hotel website), and I'm so pleased that my expectations were exceeded. I've been to San Juan many times, and didn't really want the beaches or Old San Juan experience, having done that a lot. The Looking Glass is in Santurce area, it's got a cool vibe, a great selection of delicious and affordable restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, shops, museum and park.

My first impressions began before I arrived, receiving an email confirming my reservation and providing me an access code to both the front door and my room. When I arrived to the hotel, I was warmly greeted by operations manager, Jarod, who gave me the run down and some of his suggestions on where to eat and grab a coffee,.

The room was comfortable and beautifully designed, the bathroom was very nice. Not a lot of "extras" but then I didn't expect that based on the price and the very accurate description on the website. On the top floor there is an ice machine, and an outdoor space where I worked out each morning.

Jarod was very open to feedback and suggestions, which I provided him and I believe he will implement them. One big one for me was a lack of coffee service in the hotel. While they are construcing a cafe in the space adjacent to the lobby, in the short term I found a solution of picking up some Nescafe sachets at the huge grocery store about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. I was able to make coffee via the water machine in the lobby which has hot water as well as cold. Jarod said he would implement this, I hope he does.

To sum up, the service is top notch by any standards, especially San Juan, and the design is modern while still affording comfort. Bath amenities were very good quality. There aren't a lot of "extra" amenities, but then I didn't expect that at this price point, This is a nice family run business and I hope they continue to succeed. I'll definitely stay here again when I go back...

The hotel is very nice and has a modern beautiful decor. All the process for the Check-in was electronically m and I followed the instructions when I got the electronic key codes to get into the hotel and to my reserved room. Since the moment I opened the hotel main door it smells like if I am in a spa. It is super clean and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The bed is very comfortable and slept/rest so well. The hotel provided earplugs for sleeping but I did need to use them during my stay. The room has a desk, a comfortable chair and Wi-Fi if you need to work. The hotel is in a good location where you can walk to places like: 1 to 5 minutes for coffee, breakfast and versitile dinner options; 5 minutes walk to the supermarket or the gym; 15 min walk to the beach and around 20 min walk to Walmart. It is around 10-12 minutes away in car from the airport so you can take an Uber to get to the hotel or back to the airport. You can also ask for Uber to get to nearby places like Old San Juan, Isla Verde area, Mall of San Juan and Plaza Las Anericas Mall. If you rent a car, you can talk to the hotel management to make an arrangement with a nearby pay parking service. Or you can get free parking in the street in weekdays mornings easier between 6am to 9 AM. If you arrive during the weekend, then you can pay to rent the parking spot as needed and then move the car for free parking in the mornings during the week. Whether you’re traveling for business, personal, vacation, and even if you just need peaceful time to be by yourself, this is an excellent hotel near walking distance to wonderful traditional Puerto Rican and international food, and also enjoy the variations of the Puerto Rican local...
