We booked directly through the website. My partner and I checked into a room with debris, hair, and mystery liquids all over the floors and sheets. The sheets were obviously used and the cleaning staff had not vacuumed or wiped the floors. We also saw a cockroach in the building! When we approached the front desk staff about this, they were unable to move us to a new room and instead offered to clean our room. We had to wait almost an hour for this service, causing inconvenience to us and also wasting the employees’ valuable time. We ended up staying the first night in MetroArt because there were no other options.
On the second night, the ceiling started bowing inwards and leaking water, damaging our belongings. This is an indication of severe water damage and is also a reportable health code violation with the health department due to the risk of mold blooms. We demanded an immediate room change or a full refund with the front desk staff. Due to the absence of on-site management, we were told that we had to wait until the following morning to speak with the manager. After going back and forth with the front desk staff, they agreed to refund us the cost of the rest of the nights of our stay and also grant us a partial refund for the night we had already stayed. So far, we have only received the refund for the nights not stayed.
Although the employees try their best, it’s clear that the onsite management with little oversight and an absentee supervisor is the reason our experience was so negative. Additionally, I understand Spanish quite well, and I overheard employees mislabeling me and my partner’s ethnicity in a derogatory way among their own conversations in Spanish. This just added to our already negative experience.
Do not stay here! Awful management, substandard cleaning, and a racist employee. It was a waste of time and money on an otherwise great...
Read moreI booked a last minute trip with my teens and I was pleasantly surprised at the value, proximity to everything and great customer service. I had a very early flight and decided to walk around Old San Juan until check in but after a few hours we were hot and exhausted. We arrived at the hotel at 1p and since our room was ready, they allowed us into our room. Accommodations are great with a very modern aesthetic, clean, comfortable and peaceful. The hotel is still under remodel but in the 5 days I stayed, I never heard any banging or noise. The hotel staff is very friendly and responsive. The reception area is closed at 11p and front doors locked but you’re provided with an after hours code to come and go as you please. There is no pool but with all the nearby beaches and local activities it wasn’t an issue for me. I rented a car and was concerned about parking but there is a Public Parking garage at Plaza de Diego which is around the corner on Calle Santa Fe. Parking is about $2.90 the first hr and .90c each additional hour. Parking not included in hotel stay. Hotel is at walking distance to La Placita in Santurce (I walked and felt safe)and there are various restaurants next door. It’s located across the street from el Museo de Arte, Jardín botánico and around the corner from Centro de Bellas Arte. It’s a 7min drive to el Districto T-Mobile, 10min to Old San Juan and 4min to Condado. I will certainly stay at this hotel again and highly...
Read moreI couldn't have been more pleased with my recent stay MetroArt. Every staff member was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The check-in process was smooth, and we were greeted with a warm smile from Kennethe. Axel the following day was just as accommodating and helpful and Luna on our last day was also amazing! The room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, with plush pillows and high-quality bed that made for a great night's sleep. I particularly appreciated the modern amenities, including the smart TV and high-speed Wi-Fi, which worked flawlessly throughout my stay. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a large shower and luxurious toiletries. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the Santurce District, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. Public transportation is easily accessible, and many popular sights are within walking distance. With a Puebla supermarket across the street, a Meson on the corner, several restaurants on the same block and a few bars as well. The service was truly the highlight of my stay. Every staff member I spoke to was professional, friendly, and eager to assist with any requests. I highly recommend MertroArt to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay. The combination of excellent service and a prime location made the experience unforgettable. I look forward to returning on my...
