Three months ago, my wife left me. Said I was "emotionally distant" and "more committed to pizza rolls than our marriage." Two days later, my grandma passed away—my last real friend, the only person who remembered my birthday without Facebook. And yes, I was fat. Not "big guy energy" fat—more like "my belt is crying for help" fat. I was depressed, adrift, and running on vending machine Snickers and cold regret.
But then—Afshord. I don’t even know how I ended up here. It was supposed to be a gas stop on the road to nowhere. And yet, glowing like a beacon of churned hope… there it was. Ben & Jerry’s.
From the moment I stepped inside, I knew something was different. The staff didn’t just scoop ice cream—they scooped salvation. The waffle cones were warm. The air smelled like vanilla and second chances. And the Peanut Butter Cup? It didn’t taste like peanuts and chocolate. It tasted like forgiveness.
I had a moment—one of those cinematic slow-mo ones—where I took a bite of Half Baked, the sunset hit my spoon just right, and a kid ran past me yelling, "Skibidi!" And I thought, yes. Skibidi like the kids say these. I didn’t know what it meant, but I felt it in my soul.
Now, I come here every Wednesday. I’ve lost 12 pounds (don’t ask how—it’s emotional weight), I’ve started journaling, and I even pet a dog yesterday without crying. This place didn’t just serve me dessert. It served me redemption.
Thank you, Ben. Thank you, Jerry. Thank you, Afshord. You didn’t just fill my cone. You...
Read moreThe last two visits have been a huge disappointment.
First Disappointing Visit in February they could have handled charging me for an item they did not have in a better way.
After getting charged the staff realizes they have no more #vegan options.
They make a mistake and then ask me to pay an Additional $1 for another product. I had already spent $25+ (plus tip) on different items was the $1 for their mistake needed.
Customer service before the Hurricane was ok. The the last visits have been under par.
On my last visit, I ask for 3 items on my order. They get one of the items wrong.
Instead of fixing it the server decides to grab an attitude with me and tell me he can't correct the mistake because it has already been charged.
I ask for my money back, and that also seemed to create more confusion. So I asked for my money back although once again I had given the staff a tip of over 30% and still, the staff made a mistake.
Instead of making it easy to fix the mistake they decided to hand me the item I did not want for free. I ended leaving the item on the Table since that proves the point they instead give me something I don't want for free then charging me the right amount and giving me what I want with excellent service...
Read moreA small and awesome café / ice-cream parlor off the beach ! Truly a gem in paradise.
My wife & I were staying in Condado Vanderbilt hotel and this small café was very close to it. We liked the place so much that we ended up visiting this place all the 4 days of our stay.
We initially thought its just another Ben-n-Jerry ice-cream place, but when we saw their café menu, we were pleasantly surprised.
Their Tad-in-a-hole dish is a unique egg n bread combination & their coffee is just perfect ! They offer a spicy sauce (Yellow one) that is too good if you have a spicy palette. We ended up buying it from them for back home. Pita pizza is another dish not to miss out on. We ordered the veggie one which was loaded with good blend of veggies.
We were attended by different people each day and customer service was equally good at all times. Personal attention & courteous attitude throughout.
Food may take some time to be prepared, but hey - it’s a small coffee shop, so its only expected. Nevertheless, its truly worth the wait !
Must visit if you are in...
