Simply Formidable! Wow! I had a great experience at Dulcesalado. This is the first time that I like every single course. There was no bad or subpar dish. Every single dish from the drinks to the desserts were fantastic. We ordered Tamarind Mojito and a Blueberry and Lavander Mojito. Great combination of flavors. Our appetizers were Watermelon Sushi and Apio Pancakes. I just have no words to describe these two appetizers. The watermelon Sushi is a very innovative dish. Please order it. The entrees were Fish of the day, Pear and Gorgonzola Ravioli, Classic burger and Chistorras. Everything was fresh, flavorful. You must try the raviolis. The sides were delicious as well, we had manposteao and viandas. For desserts we had the goat cheese and guava flan and the bread and butter pudding. Again, just great food. Kiddos for our server(s). It was not a busy night so another server was helping as well and both were great. They had the patience and the passion to tell us more about the food and how Puerto Ricans cook it and eat it. We also had the opportunity and pleasure to meet the owner/great Chef of Dulcesalado. I just had a fantastic family dinner at this place. Hands down I recommend this place. Make sure to make a reservation before...
Read moreWe recently celebrated my birthday at Dulcesalado, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. For appetizers, we ordered the plantain soup and chistorra, both of which were delicious and packed with rich, authentic flavors. The plantain soup was creamy with just the right balance of sweetness and savory, while the chistorra was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor.
For our main dishes, I opted for the Cubano sandwich, which was one of the best I’ve ever had—crispy bread, tender pork, and all the traditional fixings that made each bite memorable. My wife had the Serenata, and she couldn't stop raving about how fresh and flavorful it was.
To top off the meal, we indulged in their budín for dessert, and it was the perfect sweet ending. The texture was moist, and the flavors were rich yet not overpowering—truly a standout.
The service was outstanding, with the staff ensuring that every part of our dining experience was perfect. Dulcesalado truly made the evening special, and we can’t wait to return to try more of their menu. Highly...
Read moreWhat can I say. I will be tough. A peculiar establishment adjacent to a hotel—but let me stop you there. They’ll make it abundantly clear, almost as if you’ve committed a faux pas by daring to assume otherwise: they do not work with the hotel. This disjointed, frosty relationship is, quite unfortunately, reflected in every overpriced, underwhelming bite.
The menu reads like it aspires to Michelin glory, but what arrives at your table is culinary ennui served with a side of pretension. The food lacks soul, as if the kitchen is too preoccupied with defending its independence from its hotel neighbor to focus on the flavors. And as a real restaurant loner and seasoned connoisseur, I can confidently say the bitterness isn’t just between the hotel and the restaurant—it’s cooked right into the dishes.
Save your appetite and your wallet. There are far better options nearby, ones where collaboration and harmony might just be part of the recipe. After all, one should enter happy into a place to dine finely, and come out finely happy. Maybe...
