El Mex — Restaurant in San Juan

Grateful for the service and knowledge! I was candidly attended. Tried the Campechanos🌮 and Chorizo con papa🌮, thanks the locals for the recommendations, without doubt GET some TACOS. This taqueria is also memorable for the complex taste of the Mezcalitas and Margaritas. As soon the word COCORITA cross mi mind…. i get memories of the taste of a perfect coconut 🥥 margarita its something truly delectable!!! Over and above that, if your palate and soul enjoys PICANTE … I mean SPIIICY go for the Mezcalita al pastor. FINALLY - good Mexican food on the island. We got the chorizo queso fundido, Milanese torta, suadero torta and an asada taco.

All were delicious. The suadero torta was the standout. It was also nice that the tortas had a little heat to them, something pretty rare in Puerto Rico.

As a heads up, when we went on a Sunday evening there was a DJ. So just be aware it could be loud if you sit outside.

Good place. It's the door next to my hotel entrance so why not give it a try. I had the queso fundido and some asada tacos. I should have gotten some chorizo or asada on the fundido, it was was a plain cheese taste without vs. others that I've had in the past, but the chips were really good. Tacos were great!
