Nice area but I was lied to by the waitress on the prices of our drinks!!! They had happy hour 2 for $5 beers as well as certain drinks for $6. Waitress tells me all of the beers that were 2 for $5 as well as those for $6. We order them and when we get the check they charged us $5 for each beer and $8 for the supposed $6 drink..... Talked to the waitress and she said that those were the original prices she stated??? Straight up lied LOL. Service was OK. Margherita was below average. Don't come here to be honest not worth it :)))))

It’s not that they are are island time, most can’t remember your order or forget things. We ordered Asada street tacos $16.95, chips and salsa $5.99 and empanadas appetizer (don’t know cost yet) and it’s not authentic Mexican food. The asada taste more like an Asian sweet teriyaki with onions, cilantro and grated cheese … it did not taste good. I don’t like cheese on my teriyaki. It’s my opinion if you are looking for just meat no marinade street tacos don’t get the asada/beef. If you don’t mind the sweet marinade then go for it.

Beware that they don’t have drink prices on the menu. My margarita was supposed to be $10, but because I got a flavor in it, it was $15. This was not communicated! Neither was the fact that when we asked for water, it would arrive in a bottle for $2 each. The atmosphere was nice (eating outdoors on a cobblestone street), but I don’t like the lack of transparency. You can get much better food and service for a lot cheaper.

In spite of all the reviews I have visited this place three times. First time amazing! As well as the second one. Third one is the most recent and I can tell you that the food was amazing. They have less waiters than the first time we visited prior to Covid, therefore the service it's a little slow because most waiters are attending people from this restaurant and the one in the front. Our waiter was very friendly, spoke honestly and took care of us! Mind you, that I was visiting with a one year old, a 4 year old, my husband and three more friends. We all ordered mofongos because they serve mexican and local food too. The mofongo with churrasco in mushroom sauce is always heavenly. Expensive? Of course! Have you seen the prices of groceries on this island? People come here thinking that we have $1.00 beer everywhere and cheap food, well I am sorry to burst your bubble but everything has gotten seriously expensive on the island and restaurants have to cover many costs. Plus this restaurant is located at a prime, high tourism area. Go visit, eat queso frito, sorullitos, alcapurritas and the mofongo, pay what you are charged and for the love of God TIP YOUR WAITER! They only get like...

We had just the best time here. Came upon it as we were needing beverages to cool off with and a place to sit after walking around all day. Drinks were well prepared but the food… the food was delectable. We’ve had plenty of proper Mexican places in Florida, around the state. The food here tasted like we came over for dinner at Tia’s house up the hill. The mole sauce was silky smooth and not bitter. The salsa verde wasn’t extra sour, just right. Carne molida was gently seasoned, not dry or greasy.

We had to go to Puerto Rico for the best Mexican food outside of Mexico and we aren’t mad about it!

Yes it’s in a tourist zone but the street dining was refreshing. People watching at its finest! The gate at the end of the street - I wonder how many others passed through it before in yesteryears. They would have loved to have a drink and bite to eat at El Parnaso....

Had the best time at El Parnaso! I came here because a good friend recommended it, and I’m so glad I did. The food was absolutely delicious — the tacos were packed with flavor, and the spicy green salsa was chef’s kiss. The margarita diablo was seriously one of the best I’ve had.

The vibe is super chill, especially if you sit outside on the cobblestone street — it really gives that classic Old San Juan charm. Service was friendly and on point. If you’re in the area and looking for a great spot with amazing Mexican food, don’t...
