HAZEL BAR MIRAMAR — Restaurant in San Juan

I'm not one to write reviews, but the experience was so awful I had to so that management can read this and do something about it. I arrived at the restaurant and had a terrible experience with the service. We first ordered a coffee and some cookies while we looked at the menu. We got it and then I ordered another coffee and a juice and later ordered the meal. Half an hour passed, and there was no sign of the coffee or juice. Waiter comes and says they forget to hand in the order for the food and that it would take more time because they did not send it to the kitchen. Time passed and we had to ask about our juice and coffee to which they replied that they thought that they already had brought it, which clearly from looking at the table you could tell they had not so they completely forgot. Again. When the food finally arrives, they bring a completely different dish, a baguette sandwich, instead of a waffle sandwich, saying that I had told them a different dish. They got deffensive insisting that I had told them something else, when the person I was with did hear waffle. They didn't even offer to change the dish. I usually tip well, and since we had a terrible experience, we only gave a 10% tip ($5 for a $50 order). In the end, out of nowhere, they told us about a QR code to scan so we could order online to pick up instead of eating in. They told us this was not available for the place we visited but for the other locations. We didn't even ask for this information, so in other words, it was a "Don't come back, so I don't have to deal with you." I think since we didn't tip well, this rub them off wrong or something and decided to throw shade at us. Clearly, we shouldn’t have given anything at all. Insane lack of professionalism and customer service.

I gave one star for the food because they do not understand how to bring in an order correctly, even down to making over easy eggs and getting sunny side up. Paid $8 for a cold sandwich with stale chips.

1 star for the service, explained above. Truly terrible, and I work with retail, so I know it gets difficult sometimes, but they seem to treat the table next to us that had a dog fairly nice.

3 stars for the atmosphere because the place is truly nice, great place for coffee and work, since they have outlets for you to plug in a laptop. No more than that, because an atmosphere can't feel right when treated so poorly by the staff and making you feel bad for no reason.

Would not recommend the place, better coffee spots with better service around. At least, places that feel inviting and make you want to go back instead of literally telling you to go someplace...

Looking for a place to have a delicious breakfast or coffee and pastry? Look no further and get here quickly!!! This place is an absolute gem. Their Chai tea is outrageous and their pistachio puffin (pastry) is unlike anything I've ever tasted. Extremely friendly service, and adorable atmosphere with several tables inside and out. I would have loved to share a picture of my food and tea.. but it's all gone!! My son got the waffle with Nutella abd Fruit and it was equallt as impressive. Treat yourself and go here. I also got a brekky sandwich which is probably the best sandwich I've ever had and our server was so friendly and helpful! Also their pastries...
