I’m in SanJuan for business - I’m from Denver, CO and travel frequently. We walked past this place last night and it was so crowded we moved on to another restaurant and had an OK meal. Tonight it was packed again, but I was by myself (colleagues having left), so I decided given the nightly crowds, that I needed to wade in and try to get a seat at the bar. There were no empty seats to be found. The owner (Sergio) greeted me and looked for a vacant seat, but alas there were none. He said wait here a second and proceeded to graciously greet some other guests that were already dining. He then took me to the other side of the building, a new restaurant that he is opening call Scuzi (Italian). He introduced me to a group of his friends who were drinking wine and clearly enjoying themselves. He pulled out a chair and had me join them, I informed him that I didn’t want to intrude on their festivities and he and they (all locals and all incredibly nice and welcoming) insisted that I did. They proceeded to pour me some incredibly tasty Spanish wine. Sergio then made some recommendations, I opted for the grilled Salmon with capers with mixed greens with a lemon caper dressing. Ive had similar dishes in many restaurants around the world, but never better. Sergio also introduced me to many of his patrons and all of his staff, what an amazing guy, amazing staff, amazing food, great/lively ambiance, in short, hard to top. I strongly urge you to visit Jason Jamon for tapas and then come back again to Scuzi for Italian, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Sergio — your hard work and dedication to your craft is apparent and I’m glad I got to experience it and meet you and your gracious friends. Until I return my...
Read moreWe had a truly upsetting experience at this restaurant yesterday. After being seated and enjoying a calm moment, the guests at the table next to us began smoking—even though there is a clearly designated smoking area. One of my friends was feeling unwell and began coughing due to the smoke.
We politely asked the group to move to the designated area, but they reacted with hostility and refused to stop. When we brought this to the attention of the waitstaff, they did nothing to enforce the smoking policy. The situation escalated when we kindly asked the group again to respect the rules—they became aggressive and even invited us to “take it outside” for a fight.
Shockingly, the staff still did nothing. The group loudly claimed they were locals and frequent customers, suggesting that gave them privileges to break the rules. This made us feel incredibly unsafe and disrespected.
We are deeply disappointed that the restaurant chose to prioritize certain customers over enforcing basic laws and ensuring the comfort and safety of others. On top of that, the food was mediocre and certainly not enough to justify such a negative and stressful experience.

Read moreIt was late and we couldn’t decide on where to eat - the last night of our vacation. We walked in to Pizza e Birra (just a few doors down) and stood at the host stand for about 10 minutes, completely annoyed. Finally the bartender said we could sit where we like (the sign said please wait to be seated). We sat down and didn’t see anything we liked and already got bad vibes. We left and stumbled upon Jamon Jamon. We were greeted before we even walked in the door by (I’m guessing) the owner. The host held open the door for us, greeted us and smiled. We were sat immediately despite it being busy and late in the evening. Our server was fantastic and the support staff was on top of every little detail. The food was great and the drinks were phenomenal!! Try the rosemary old fashioned! You won’t be disappointed. We can’t wait to visit these lovely people during our next vacation and sad we found this place so late in the trip! Good vibes and...
