We stopped in for Mojitos because of proximity to La Concha and good reviews. It was just past 6pm and the door and windows were open, with staff at the bar. The owner told us they are supposed to open at six, but he was caught in traffic and they weren't ready to open. The other employee said she would be happy to make two Mojitos, and he told us that we had to sit out back. Fine. We had our drinks, which were good. My husband paid our ten dollar bill, left a tip and off we went. The next night, we tried stopping back at 6:15 and were told it would be another half hour before they were ready to open. What??? We didn't go back and found good Mojitos and dinner at Cafe del Angel. The next night, we foolishly decided to try again. It was about 6:15 again. The owner told us they weren't ready yet, but he would make drinks in five minutes. We sat and sure enough, he brought us a couple of Mojitos after about ten minutes. They were good, not great. My husband went to pay and the owner charged ten dollars EACH, twice what he had charged two nights before. He explained that the staff person who made them was still learning, so the cost was different than it was tonight. Say what? Needless to say, we paid, left no tip and did not...

Server Mario is scammer. Beware and get an itemized bill. Server was terrible for it to be an empty restaurant as in we were the only ones there. We made our order and it was brought out wrong. Then the food came out staggered and all over the place. When the bill came it was wrong. We asked for an itemized bill to see what was on it. Of course things we didn’t order was. He brought the correct bill and before I could check my boyfriend paid the bill which again was wrong. They tried to say amounts automatic gratuity which was a lie because he then said he always ask and they don’t get a lot of business. However if it’s automatic why do you ask and why is it no where on the bill or menu stating so. The waiter gave himself a $15 tip when the service wasn’t even worth $5. We our good tippers because I am a server myself and get it. But to assume and scam people out of money is ridiculous. We have been to over 20 restaurants including high end restaurants during our stay and never wasn’t asked did we want to include a tip or automatic gratuity was stated at restaurant. It was our last night so we did our research to find somewhere good to eat. It was around 10pm so it wasn’t busy and we were seated quickly. The drinks we ordered were good however the food awful. We ordered the “kebabs” aka pinchos, fried chicken and fried fish tacos. We ordered the grilled pinchos and got the marinated version instead. It was chicken which was very dry and smothered in Kraft bbq sauce, no veggies. The tacos were not seasoned and they tried to compensate flavor for a half a pound of processed cheese. After the food arrived we never saw our waitress again. We waited so long that one of us had to go upstairs to the bar to get someone’s attention. We asked for another drink, the check and a to go box to feed the food to the stray animals. A different waitress came to our table 10 minutes later with a drink and check, no to go box. 20% gratuity was included which we don’t mind paying if the service is good.
