We ordered our food and were given a buzzer to let us know when the food was ready. We sat outside, which they knew. The buzzer never went off, and we didn’t order anything complicated, so after about 20-30 minutes we went to check. There was our food sitting on the counter like no big deal. No initiative to come see why we hadn’t picked it up. (It wasn’t busy and, again, they knew we were outside.) I took the food without knowing it had been there for a while, but it turned out to be cold. I took it back inside to explain that they never buzzed us and the food was cold and we would like it remade. No one offered any apologies, neither in English or Spanish. The possible manager that came over treated me like some uppity person from the mainland, as if a hot breakfast that we paid for was asking too much. The food turned out to be fine, but could’ve been a lot better if it hadn’t been tainted by the non existent...
Read moreRude staff! They look like they don’t wanna be working. If you speak English they look at you like you’re from an alien country and even though I’m Hispanic, I speak fluent English 24 hours a day is staff here by far the worst. The coffee wasn’t even the white coffee I ordered. I didn’t even bother to tell him to fix it. I walked out and threw it away after I took two sips.

As many raves, as everybody told me to come here and get the best coffee, I can say I was not impressed. This is definitely a letdown the staff utterly...
Read moreCame from USA and wanted a good brunch. I came to old San Juan just for brunch. When looking for places I came across el Pilao Cafe. As soon as I walk in the lady didn’t greet us and although the order was taken, when the food was served it was all in plastic silverware, plates and coffee. If I go to a restaurant specifically in Old San Juan I expect for my plate serve presentation to be accordingly as I didn’t ask my food was to go. I kindly ask for my coffe to be in a Ceramic Cup as I was eating in the restaurant. A young red hair, white skin lady completely ignored me and roll her eyes. The other lady dark hair and skin was a little more pleasant however when the coffee was served again it was NOT good at all. I had ask my bacon to be well done and it was not. The food look like a street bakery, not a restaurant. I definitely would NOT RECOMMEND...
