The tacos were incredibly overpriced
Far more than the San Francisco Bay area
That was really amazing
I spent over $20 with the tip and just one Corona
But I was so hungry that I went to a restaurant next door immediately
I still wasn't full Even after spending now nearly $40 at these two so-called low-budget places
And I had to go to a Chinese restaurant
The tacos tasted good but they give you very little spice... There are no jalapenos
Even when you asked the friendly registered lady and her assistant... Is this all the spice you get... They say yeah they don't give you any more or ask you if you want any
They don't have all the little spice things that any Mexican restaurant has... And it is literally more than twice the price of San Francisco Bay area... Not just the lower overhead taco trucks but even restaurants in San Francisco... That are this type of hole in the wall low budget eating a hallway no restaurant service restaurant...
I have never experienced not being full or satisfied after spending over $10 on the tacos
🌮🌮 The two beef tacos were $11 plus tax approximately $12 plus gratuity they were about $14
And these were ridiculously small tacos for $7 each
But even for a flat 10 I've never been dissatisfied with my order of tacos in the San Francisco Bay area which clearly has higher prices
The Walgreens here looks really cheap compared to where I live for example and it's right next to this restaurant on the beach front road...
BASICALLY this is price gouging they could simply make the tacos bigger they can charge these prices but they could have more and they could give you more spices
I wound up going to one of two Chinese restaurants that always have a fair portion
The Venezuelan restaurant next door is no BETTER... I spent $15 there and $10 of it was on a couple of really weak little empanadas
Basically the strategy of these businesses by the beach have is to sell items that are small and overpriced with very little meat... To tourists for $5
Basically the thought process there is that hey it's only $5 they're just getting a little grab a bite snacks so even if it's not three or four dollars like the other trucks /it's only a buck or two more and it's by the beach
And it's some kind of a quick bite like from a moving cart or truck
WHAT THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND IS THAT A NORMAL PERSON WOULD ASSUME THIS TYPE OF A FIXED MEXICAN RESTAURANT TYPE PLACE WOULD BE ENOUGH FOR DINNER AND NOT JUST A SILLY SNACK!
AND THE SAME THING GOES TO THAT VENEZUELAN HOLE IN THE WALL RESTAURANT NEXT DOOR-
I HAVEN'T BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED WITH MY FOOD PORTIONS -EVER SINCE I CAME TO SAN JUAN ONE MONTH AGO!
The only thing comparable would be a Marriott where they had lunch included and they gave you slim portions but they were still way bigger than this... In other words at the rainforest brand new Marriott lunch area... I could get a big nacho plate or a hamburger plate with a beverage... For just $18... And 21.00 with tip
And if it was an alcoholic beverage it would have been approximately $24
Compare that to this place... What they saw there was absolutely filling for lunch at least... I was so hungry at this place I went to the restaurant next door!
(Which turned out to be a flop as well because only one out of two empanadas had beef in them really!)
This place is actually charging more than the lunch area in a brand new Marriott!
Watch out this is a tourist trap in my opinion.
And then they have a strange bar in the back where they serve shots to people! It seems really tacky because it's not a nice environment and if you're going to be having alcohol and shots you would think that a classy environment which is actually sociable would be preferable! It looks sleazy like something out of...

Terrible Service Bland Food Lack of courtesy High Prices Did I mention lackluster food? Or horrendous service???
If I were you, I’d stay away. I’ve never been so annoyed in the entirety of my life. To the woman that took our order, I’m not sure what her issue was, but maybe learn to treat your patrons with respect as opposed to showcasing your clear sense of entitlement. If I tell you that it’s all together, and order food for clearly more than one person, there’s no reason to look at me with contempt and voice that I didn’t communicate to you that I’m ordering for more than one.
For one I made your one job easier by consolidating the order and paying on one tab, for two, taking my order is your only responsibility.
I also love being told that I’ve come in so late, having come in 2 hours before you close, and then you making me feel terrible because I elected to print the receipt. And oh by the way, you were out of HALF of your menu.
In lieu of all this, I still left a 20% tip, but had to come and pick up my food where you forgot half of our simple and small order.
Literally the worst experience in terms of service that I’ve maybe ever had.
The bland food I can get over. The atmosphere I can get over. Your attitude towards patrons that are spending hard earned money with you, I won’t let that go.
You don’t deserve to have people come and spend their money here.
To the readers of this review, do yourself a favor and find a taco bell. It’ll be cheaper. The food will be better. And the service would be better even if the cashier punches you in the face.
Don’t waste your time, money, or patience on this...
Read moreIf I could give a 0 for customer service, I would. Before saying anything, the food was 4/10. Xsmall tacos and overpriced. Long story short, the lady taking orders gave me a nasty attitude when I simply asked "Can I change my order to dine in?" She was upset because of a bad interaction with the previous customer yet decided to take it out on me. A simple no would've been enough. She was disrespectful to me in front of everyone so I was taken by surprise. The man working there witnessed this and was nice enough to tell me that I could just dine in without making any changes. I was just trying to be respectful and ask before taking up space in the small seating area. I was going to let it go until my bf and I heard her talk about the situation out loud. She called me and the previous customers offensive names in Spanish. I'm sure she knew we were there so the...
