I’m giving it 2 stars because the food was good and it’s conveniently located across from Caribe Hilton. The service was so bad and so terrible and the staff was extremely rude. You walk in to the counter and no one greets you, we stood there for a whole 60 seconds (which is a long time considering there were 2 workers on the other side of the counter) and although one was crunching some numbers they could have acknowledged our presence AT LEAST. So my wife has to initiate the encounter, we place the order to-go, they told us 20 minutes and 30 minutes past before we inquired about our order to which we were met with “don’t you see we are busy we have a lot going on I’ll get to you in a second” and when I told them we were rung up for the wrong item (something I should have caught earlier) the older lady with gray hair and glasses started talking shit in Spanish. My wife speaks Spanish so she understood what she said and told the lady that she rung us up for the wrong item and the lady said nothing back. When we stepped away another guy said he got yelled at too for asking about his order. Another couple came to the counter to ask how to order since it’s so unclear how the place operates and they just left after being met with extreme unprofessionalism. The ONLY way this place is surviving is the location. Take a $4 uber into old San Juan and throw a stone and hit a place with similar food and competent service!

The place is trash. Food came out quick, but had an odd taste. It tasted like it had been stored in a cupboard for a couple hours. Then I had to wait longer to pay for my food than it actually took me to get it and eat it. In the mean time the personnel was cursing, arguing with each other and talking about other guests. On top of that you could tell other guests felt the rejection due to their face expressions. And there was kids breaking stuff, screaming and playing their cartoons loudly on their phones right next to me. Nothing about this place was even remotely good. The decorations are also tacky and poorly placed. This place only survives because it’s a walking distance from Caribe Hilton. But I can’t imagine anyone staying there wanting to come here, it’s just an awful and distasteful experience. Oh, and here is a picture of the flan I was given. It looked like a slob of condensed milk. And IDK why they poured cheap chocolate syrup over it…?? Again, distasteful.

One thing to take into account during my visit was that it was during spring break and the tourist count was through the roof at this time. With that being said however, the service was unbelievably slow. Food was forgotten, people who were seated after were given their food before ours, no server came to our table, we had to go to the front desk to ask for service even though we were sat 1 foot away from the front and had been waiting for a least 20 minutes prior. Nothing in particular to say about the workers themselves but rather the lack of attentiveness. We were extremely patient the whole time, but having to repeatedly try our best to get a servers attention is just not ideal for a quick bite. The restaurant itself is adorable with a beautiful view. They also provide indoor and outdoor seating. The food itself was quite good, my boyfriend had the mera fish which he loved, and I had tacos de carne which were just alright. Overall I wish I had better to say about the service considering it being such a small spot in such...

I was staying at the Hilton Caribe so I went there for a quick bite. The girl took my order I told her fried plantains but when I came out they gave me sweet plantains. When I told them what the issue was the man in the braces took the sweet plantains back with an attitude and said unless I have $1 in cash he is not giving me the fried plantains. And he is not running my debit card unless I’m spending an extra $5. When I asked why do I have to suffer for their mistakes he asked me why I’m raising my voice then the lady with the green hair who claimed she was the manager stepped in and started giving me attitude back even though the man in the braces with the black hair was wrong. I personally feel like all this happened because I’m black and the crazy thing is I told him that I would come back with the $1 in cash he still gave me an attitude. I felt so uncomfortable and scared. If I come back to San Juan I would never step foot in there. The chicken tacos were a little mushy and the chicken...
