We’re visiting PR for my little brother’s birthday and I suggested Fogo de Chao for his birthday dinner cause I’ve been going to the one in Short Pump, Virginia since it opened. We walked in, place was busy so we prepared ourselves to wait a little longer that the usual dinner times. As soon as we got sat, server asked us for our drinks but we say just water since we had some cocktails and wine at the bar while waiting for a table. She seemed upset and made a rude face when my brother decided to keep looking at the menu instead of ordering right away. She came back few minutes later and i ordered the grilled salmon with asparagus. 20 min after we’re already eating from the market table without any water or our server to be found. Had to ask the HOST that happened to be walking by our table and he nicely brought us glasses of water. 40 min and I’m still waiting for the salmon wishing someone would tell me the status. At this point we felt totally ignored by our server… she was talking and taking care of the rest of the people around but us. We don’t know what happened cause suddenly we got another server asking us if we needed anything; I ask for the status of my salmon and she said it was on the way. But it wasn’t until another 15 min that i finally got it by someone who literally let the plate drop in front of me without any care or manners. But again we understood they were busy so nobody made a big deal out of it. At this time we were trying to get some water for the second time but again we felt like we were being ignored. So I asked to talk to the manager. Victor apologized for everything and promised my brother to take care of his drink and also a complementary dessert for his birthday. 20 min after we we’re still waiting for that drink and the dessert. At this point all we wanted was to leave so we asked for the bill. I was being charged twice for the salmon and the market table and a mineral water we didn’t order… I asked the server to call the manager Victor but her and another person who seemed to be in charged acted like they didn’t know who Victor was and they just looked at me like I was crazy. So I told this other guy about the double charges and told him that we were promised a dessert and again he looked at me like I didn’t know what I was talking about. My brother dinner was already completely screwed up so all we wanted was to get out of there. He took off the extra $50 dollars I was being charged on the first bill and they again just dropped the bill in front of me, no apology not even a friendly face, like it was my fault I got double charged. Then when I paid with my phone and put zero tip on the terminal (cause we are waiters in Virginia so we know cash tips are a better way to tip) the server kinda laughed and say “thank you” with sarcasm. So we left feeling discriminated cause clearly we were the only Hispanic people in her section. I just feel sad for my brother and his birthday dinner getting ruined by judgmental and...
Read morePoor service. Dirty bathrooms. Didnt receive many of meats in premium package.
This visit to the Fogo De Chao location in San Juan (near Condado) was extremely disappointing. As I left I wished I had chose one of the local restaurants instead.
Me and 2 friends arrived at 840pm and left at 11:25pm. We were seated right away. After the server greeted us and we made our menu selections, the service became very slow. We waited half hour for our drinks. There were long periods before the server came to check on us.
The All day happy hour was not mentioned by our server, we overheard our waiter tell the table behind us and offer them a menu for it to look over.
I had to wave at the meat servers to request cuts of meat that came with my package, but was not brought to us until we requested.
After eating at salad bar and several rounds of meat, we were pretty much finished around 10pm. We then sat at table for over 20 minutes without a server coming by. We sat so long we decided to go back to salad bar and eat again while continuing to wait.
We were then given a dessert menu by server, then we waited another 20 minutes for a server to come back to put our order in. When the server came to take our order (different server), he looked over menu and described the desserts to my 2 friends, but did not include me in the conversation, nor did he acknowledge me until I asked could he tell me about the desserts also. He did not stand at table where all of us could hear him, he leaned in between my 2 friends.
After dessert, we had to request our check 3 times from different servers before receving it. All of the other tables near us had ate, received their checks and/or had left before us, including those that came after us.
Also, we put on our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and also my friend told the host and the server when we arrived. We also mentioned it when the server was changed to make him aware. Nothing was done or mentioned, we complained to the server. The response from the server was that he didnt know i was going to order the option that included dessert (Im guessing I wouldve got a free dessert or something if I had chose a different rodizio package? Not clear what he meant by that).
I left totally disappointed and wishing I had chose somewhere else to celebrate. We spent our entire evening at the restaurant because of slow service and missed our plans for rest of evening. To make matters worse, when leaving we used the restroom, it was filthy to say the least. Tissue and trash on floors, obviously not being cleaned throughout the evening.
This is not the level of service and experience that I expect from Fogo De Chao or any other restauraunt that we are spending hundreds of dollars. I will not...

Fogo de Chão * Puerto Rico *
From the moment you step through the doors, the attentive and beautiful staff makes you feel welcomed and valued. They guide you to your table with grace and efficiency, ensuring a smooth transition into the dining area.
Despite the restaurant's reputation for prompt and continuous tableside service, there was a noticeable lag in the rotation of meats being brought to our table. I unfortunately encountered a disappointing delay in receiving the meat selections compared to the other restaurants I have visited located in Miami Coral Cables and Los Angeles.
This delay detracted from the overall enjoyment of the dining experience, as it hindered the flow of the meal and left us feeling impatient. While the quality of the food remained satisfactory, the slow service significantly impacted our perception of the restaurant in Puerto Rico. If you visit other locations other than Fogo in Puerto Rico you will most likely tap out with the flow and speed of the meat selections they bring to your table.
Inflation affects restaurants by chipping away at profit margins on food but a study commissioned by the Puerto Rico Restaurant Association revealed that the average monthly spending of consumers this year in Puerto Rico in food businesses increased 21% compared to the previous year. When looking at the data by type of establishment, luxury restaurants received the highest average spend by diners: $101 per visit.
Furthermore, When looking at popular youtube food review channels such as Mike Chen and Davidsbeenhere about the restaurant Fogo de Chão Its evident and clear that it does have prompt and continuous tableside service but it seems Puerto Rico has adopted the take max profit before serving the customer approach.
In the future, I hope that Fogo de Chao Puerto Rico can address these issues by contacting the corporate offices to ensure a more seamless and enjoyable dining experience for all patrons.
