BlackHorse Espresso & Bakery — Restaurant in San Luis Obispo

First time here. Coffee and pastries were very good. Reason for three stars: Pulled into the lot and a group of about eight grouchy old guys sitting at the table outside in front of Black Horse, “parking their not so nice” personalities, there. My wife smiled and said good morning and only got some grumbles. Then one of them came up to me, “WITHOUT A MASK” invaded my space, tapped me on the shoulder and told me I could not park in the lot because his company owned those spaces. Asked whether I read the sign. We were only going to be there 5 minutes. Objectivity was not their strong suit I guess. I did leave quickly and picked my wife up down the block. If it were my business, I would not serve anyone who would harass my customers. They have a legal right to place the sign there, but according to another person in line, these guys harassed her a few days ago about parking there as well. It’s kind of crossing a line. Finally bagel cream the best in my journey.. fresh nice warm and served with genuine love and compassion. America is great why does anyone want to make it great again.

Eric the owner with some good college kids working and he is the most amazing guy. Someone called asking whether it was a tee place as jn golf tee and he wondered whether it was better to offer him tea. He offered me spinach and feta cheese roll.. again good .

Bri is the lady learning and studying to be a civil engg and is going tk be a very good engg, I will hire her.

And then there is the silent barista who only drinks tea.. Jen ..sturdy focused , studying ..

A SLO classic. It was my first time and it's a nice coffee shop, they have pastries and different types of drinks. I enjoyed that their coffee is the no BS type, aka you don't get tons of cream and sweetener, you get what you need, with subtle variations in the tastes. Their cakes were moist and sweet enough to pair well with the coffee. Their staff is polite but I had a hard time defining what I wanted, not knowing the classics of the house and didn't get much help from the person that served me. This establishment is definitely used to be well known so it can be a tad intimidating when you don't know...
