UPDATE to previous 5-star review: I went 4-16-24 at ~ 11am and ordered another tri-tip sandwich and seasoned fries to go. Taste/quantity/value were still at the level I described in my previous post. BUT- what was also consistent was the odious/loathsome expressions on the faces of the 4-6 male employees who work behind the counter to fill and distribute the orders. WHAT'S UP?!!! This observation is not a new one or even a post COVID phenomenon. As early as 2018 to current day, I've asked a variety of longtime locals/friends who have also frequented the SLO Higuera St Firestone Grill and Cambria Main St BBQ locations for 10+ years to see if they've had the same experience; they confirm that dour employee demeanors have been a consistent part of the culture-regardless of the customer tip or gratitude expressed. WOULD someone PLEASE speak to the big boss about the company's Values & Mission statement, before the unfriendliness has a negative effect, business slows down, and I lose my best source for the MOST EXCELLENT tri-tip i've ever had?? [PLEASE NOTE- If the employee attitudes described above are the result of abuse and entitlement issues directed to them by John Q Public-let me express my most sincere apologies and sympathy instead. I appreciate your hard work & excellent food and will continue to express that as long as possible with a smile, a thank you, good tips, and continued patronage]

Let me start by giving a special shout out to Lou and Patty, the fantastic duo who always take care of us when we sit at the bar. These two go above and beyond to make our dining experience unforgettable. Not only do they remember our orders, but they are also incredibly attentive and make us feel like VIPs every time we visit. Thank you both for your exceptional service!
Of course, I can't forget about the amazing cooks at Firestone. When hunger strikes and I'm on the verge of becoming "hangry," I know exactly where to go. The speed at which they prepare our meals without compromising on quality is simply mind-blowing. The food always arrives fresh and flavorful. Kudos to the talented chefs behind the scenes!

Read moreOrdered food through their app, got fries ABC style that was offered on their app as an option and two veggie sandwiches and added tri tip after hearing how good it was and my girlfriend visiting California for the first time and San Luis Obispo. I asked before I left if the fries were ABC I was told yes that it was in the bag. I drove 30 minutes to our hotel to make it in time for sunset, only to open the bag and see regular fries and onion rings and two veggie sandwiches without meat. Drove 30 minutes back to the restaurant, was told they don't offer abc on the fries and that was an error, and then given a cup of chopped up tri tip, to which they had to be reminded it was two for both sandwiches that I paid an extra 6 dollars on each. I wasn't even offered to have the sandwiches remade that were now an hour old. Then upon asking if I could have fresh fries I was responded to with, "I guess". Waited about 20 minutes by the bar to have 5$ refunded for the fries. They also denied my refund for the food, which was not only now an hour and a half old but two cups of crumbled meat, and missed the sunset which my girlfriend has never seen over the ocean. Extremely upset with the service after talking this restaurant up to her from when I lived here. There was also no way to get support or talk to a manager their phone number just goes to a prerecorded message to place an order on the app. I can't recommend getting take out here or visiting.
