Ive walked hy this place many times and have always wanted to try it. My friend and I decided tongive it a chance and were pleasantly surprised. Its larger inside than you would expect. The feeling is warm and feels inviting. The service was fantastic. They continually checked on us...without constantly asking us or interupting our conversation either. They would just slowly walk by, look at our table to check and see that our beverages were full etc.
I had the Scallops under the "chefs favorites" section. I must say, Inwas expecting maybe 4 moderate size scallops at the most. They scallops were HUGE and therebwas at least 8 of them. They were cooked perfectly, nice and tender and not rubbery and definitely not fishy tasting. The sauce they were in was moderately spicy but it was the perfect touch. It had basil and some veggies mixed in. Along with it comes your choice of white rice, brown rice, or steamed vegetables.
My friend got the red curry with squash and said it was very tasty too. I cant comment much on that one sorry.
Oh, i also got the Thai iced tea...it was good, not tooo sweet like some ive had but it was kind of strong. I couldnt finish it. We also shared an order of Thai spring rolls. They were very tasty, simple, and their dipping sauce was great. It comes with 6, but they're more like the size of 1 regular spring roll cut in half.
All in all..give it a try, you wont be...
Read moreThai Palace in San Luis Obispo is hands-down one of the best dining experiences Iâve had in SLOâmaybe even anywhere. From the moment you walk in, you feel taken care of. The staff is incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they care not just about the food, but about their customers having a great experience.
The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish bursts with flavorâauthentic, balanced, and clearly made with fresh ingredients and love. The curries are rich and aromatic, the pad thai is perfectly saucy, and the spice levels are exactly how you want them: flavorful with just the right kick. I especially recommend the yellow curry and the drunken noodlesâseriously, they hit every time.
You can feel the heart in this place. Itâs not just a restaurantâitâs a comfort spot. Whether youâre going for a casual dinner or something special, Thai Palace makes it feel like home. SLO is lucky to have a gem like this. If you havenât been yet, do yourself a favor and go. Youâll be thinking about it long after the...
Read moreVEGETARIANS BEWARE!!! the food is Very average and the extremely overpriced. A simple rice dish is over $16. We ordered a vegetarian rice dish and it came out with chicken we told the server who said we will fix it and it will take a few minutes to remake it. The manager Eddie came right back out with the same dish asking what is the problem in a very rude and condensing manner. We explained the problem and he dashes off to the kitchen removes the chicken from the dish and brought the same dish back out. We mention to the wait staff and he clearly said I told him they are vegetarian as he is a vegetarian and told his manager Eddie, Eddie didn't care and served right back to us. I could only imagine if your gluten free or vegan what they will serve. If you have any dietary restrictions you should avoid this place at all cost. Many many other options to dine while in San Luis Obispo this is definitely one to avoid. These folks also have the Thai Basil in Paso Robles. Definitely on...
