Moe's Mediterranean is the newest (As of December 2023) addition to the slate of Mediterranean restaurants available in SLO city. The restaurant is situated centrally downtown with consistent hours that make it easy to rely on. The atmosphere inside is wonderful, it is very clean, the layout is logical, the seats are comfortable; it's a lovely place to sit in for lunch or dinner. The food is quite good. First of all, the French fries are absolutely killer, I would go there just for the fries. Blows Nick the Greek out of the water on that front. I have had three mains so far, a chicken shawarma sandwich, beef sandwich, and chicken kabobs. The two sandwiches were both good; the beef edition is pictured. The chicken is a little bit underseasoned in my opinion, it could benefit from being more flavorful. The beef is full of flavor and could be a little overwhelming, but I order chicken 99% of the time so make sure to try the beef for yourself and form your own opinion. The chicken kebab meal, on the other hand, is very good. The chicken was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The only downside to the kebab meal was that it doesn't come with the great fries by default! Moe's Mediterranean is definitely better than its competitors if you're getting the chicken kebab plate with a side of fries, and is a strong contender based upon your...
Read moreIn town for a work trip and decided to give this restaurant a try. The restaurant was very clean and the server taking my order was very friendly. Prices are pretty average and reasonable for good quality Mediterranean food. I ordered the combo plate with beef kefta and beef shish kabob and a Mediterranean salad. The first thing I noticed before digging in is the scent, the aroma of the meat and spices was delicious and a great sign of things to come. Now the fun part, eating. The food was delicious, meat was well seasoned and I enjoyed every last bite. The meat was slightly over cooked to my taste, but take that with a grain of salt because I prefer my meat with a pulse, this did not impact my experience in the slightest bit. The star of the show to me was the yellow rice, I was pretty full halfway through my plate but could not stop eating until it was completely done. At the time of writing this review I have not yet tried the salad as I’m saving it for a later meal, however it’s visually pleasing and all the produce in it is fresh. Finally the portions, they’re very well portioned, as I stated earlier I was pretty full halfway through my plate. Overall, I loved this restaurant and it satisfied my craving for good Mediterranean food. 10/10 would recommend that you give this...
Read moreWe were disappointed on our visit to Moe's Mediterranean. We went to the counter to give the cashier our order. I had the lamb shish kebab, and my daughter wanted the combo shish kebab with chicken and beef kebabs. Both plates include saffron rice, humus, cucumber salad, pita slices, and pickles. My husband had the beef shwarma. We also added humus and dolmas appetizers. The server was a bit slow, and each time, I politely asked a question, and he responded in a curt manner. We patiently searched for an empty table for 3. I went outside where I there were 2 empty tables. However, somebody left their small dogs tied to the table legs. That would have been seating for at least 6 people. We waited for a small table near the counter. We waited about 15 minutes when our food was delivered to the table. I asked if there was flatware when the server responded, and he would bring them. Instead, he went back to the counter and took more orders as we waited for him to return. Finally, my husband went and asked for some forks, and then he was given 3 packets of flatware. The entrees looked good, but when we tasted the entrees, it was kind of bland. We had hoped for something more unique than what we're accustomed to eating in Fresno. I paid $78 for a meal that didn't appeal to our...
