Sea Barra — Restaurant in San Marcos

We stopped in for a quick dinner during the week. The restaurant was hot, very hot! They had several fans blowing but the interior was still extremely warm at most of the tables. Hopefully this will be a quick fix because its almost to hot to enjoy your meal. They start you off with refried beans and chips which were fun. The beans had good flavor and the chips , well they are what you can get off the shelf at any HEB. The fish and chips ($17) were my pick. The fries were hot but lacked seasoning, even salt. They were absolutely frozen fires. They were cooked well, but again needed some flavor. The Cod was almost tough and a texture I have never had before in fish which made it even weirder. One of the "nuggets" I could not even bite through. All in all not the greatest experience. I most likely will give them a second chance in case this was a one off. We ordered two shrimp and bacon tacos, one mahi-mahi taco, one salmon taco, Fried cod, governable taco and the seafood tower. Since we Ordered two tacos it came with chips and bean dip. The chips were good, the bean dip was good but a very small amount of it and never came to Refill. We had a big order, but it did take a little bit to get the food longer than I expected since it was empty when we arrived. Besides that we enjoyed it mostly. The shrimp and bacon tacos were delicious. I think a little too much topping could’ve dropped the price a little bit and take off some of the toppings, but the quality was great. The seafood tower was good. PERFECT PLACE FOR TACOS! especially seafood tacos! I started coming here when it was just a food truck and now they have a location, and it’s still the same great tasting food, wonderful service, and nice and clean atmosphere. The owners are very sweet and did I mention about how tasty the food is already? I order Mahi mahi tacos yummy and horchata!!! They also have a bar area separated by a wall which gives a nice exclusive experience if you want to be that side of the restaurant and they have a outside seating where a fan and light mist would circulate so you are feeling cool on a hot day.
