My husband asked me where I wanted to go for my birthday dinner. I decided to go to Joy Luck in Sandy. That was a bad decision. We ordered the Royal family dinner that came with 1/2 bobo platter, soup or salad for each and each 1 entree to share. We also ordered extra cheese wontons as we figured the 1/2 bobo would only give 1 or 2 based on how we read the menu, we were wrong, and ended up with lots of wontons. No biggie we could take them home and reheat them. First the soups came out and were so salty you couldn’t even eat it. Then the appetizers. The fried stuff, egg rolls , wontons and fried shrimp were dripping with grease as you bit into them. 🤢 There was a fire lit tiki torch in the middle , we weren’t sure what it was for, decor or to warm our appetizers since they were cold. Our food came out, I ordered walnut shrimp and my husband ordered Cantonese style noodle with chicken. The shrimp were a good size but that was again full of grease and the noodle dish was just plain bad. It tasted nothing like what it should have. The ham fried rice was so bland. We spent almost $100 for inedible food. My poor husband tried to choke what he could down. We left most of it and threw away the rest when we got home. The waitress was attentive enough I guess. She kept drinks refilled but as a waitress I would’ve noticed my customers not eating and asked about it. But I guess they just Dont care anymore. We definitely won’t be going back or recommend it to anyone. Also the bathroom smelled like backed...
Read moreMy husband and I have been coming to Joy Luck Sandy,UT location for the last four years. We are forever customers! I’m not one to leave reviews on the Internet, but this place deserves an enormous shout out! if you like Chinese food, wonton soup, a really calm atmosphere where you can enjoy a meal – – this is the place for you!
There has not been a single time that we have been to Joy Luck, where we did not absolutely love the food! The spicy wonton soup is AMAZING!! You won’t find anything like it anywhere else, trust me that alone is worth a visit! Their menu offers so much variety, and the food always comes out hot.
The service is unmatched at Joy Luck— I’ve never been to a restaurant where they treat you like family. It doesn’t matter if we go in every week, or if it’s been a few months in between visits, everyone at Joy Luck is so kind and caring. You won’t find a more genuine crew!
If you are looking for a place to celebrate with family, a place to unwind after a long week, or a place to get some good comfort food (seriously— try the spicy wonton soup!), Joy Luck is the place to go!
You seriously can’t go wrong! .
I love to order the tangerine crispy beef, ham fried rice, with a house salad (the dressing is THE best), and a bowl of their spicy wonton soup. You can get it with meats, veggies, or just wontons— and they’re all sooo good.
My husband loves their teriyaki chicken, and their sesame chicken.
We love their cream cheese rangoons and their...
Read moreI was accused of not paying my full bill at the cash register after I walked out to my car. The manager came out to the parking lot looking for me and I could have driven away but stopped to see what he was looking for. I had lunch with two of my friends and we each put in $20 towards the bill. I placed 3 twenty dollar bills on the counter as we got ready to leave the restaurant. The employee at the counter slipped one twenty dollar bill onto the floor behind the counter after I left and claimed I only gave him $40 total instead of $60. The manager took no action against the employee and did not apologize for falsely accusing me of only paying $40. The action of the employee was caught on video camera that I requested to review after the manager insisted I pay an additional $20. The manager found the $20 under the counter when I pointed out what his employee had done, but did not even question his employees actions. The employee had plenty of time to come ask me for an additional $20 if he honestly believed I shorted him $20 as I did stop in front of the door to the restaurant and talked to one of my friends that I had lunch with for about 5 to 10 minutes before getting into my car. The employee's action clearly demonstrate that he knew what he was doing. Note: I have a copy of the restaurant video showing the employee's actions.
I don't plan to ever eat at this restaurant again. The least the manager could have done was apologize for falsely...
