I recently had the pleasure of dining at Koi Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi with a bunch of friends, and it turned out to be one of the better hibachi experiences I've had in a long time. The evening started with a warm welcome from the staff, who were incredibly attentive and accommodating throughout our visit.
We opted for the hibachi experience, which is always a fun and interactive way to enjoy a meal with friends. Our chef was not only skilled in the art of hibachi cooking but also entertaining, keeping us engaged with his impressive knife skills and playful banter. The highlight of the evening was definitely watching him expertly prepare our meals right in front of us.
The food itself was fantastic. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender, and flavorful, while the shrimp and chicken were equally delicious. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and well-seasoned, and the fried rice was a hit with everyone at the table. The portions were generous, ensuring that no one left hungry.
We also sampled some sushi, and it did not disappoint. The fish was fresh, and the rolls were beautifully presented, adding an extra touch of elegance to our meal.
One aspect that truly stood out was the service. The waitstaff was attentive without being overbearing, ensuring our drinks were always filled and our needs promptly met. They made us feel welcome and comfortable, which added to the overall positive experience.
The atmosphere at Koi Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi is inviting, with a modern yet cozy décor that sets the perfect mood for a night out with friends. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, further enhancing our dining experience.
In conclusion, Koi Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi exceeded our expectations in every way. From the exceptional hibachi performance to the delicious food and outstanding service, it’s clear that this restaurant knows how to deliver a memorable dining experience. If you’re looking for a great place to enjoy hibachi with friends or family, I highly recommend...
Read moreLook... we eat out... a lot! And I'm not one to just review something. This father's day dinner with my adult kids was one of the best dining experiences.
Listen... I'm not just talking about 1 thing... like... ooo hibachi. We've done that a lot. And I'm not just talking about food quality, or just about service, or just about atmosphere.
Hear me out. The food... very good. Its hibachi and hibach in general is good. We all did something a little different on the hibachi, and it was good... even very good.
The sushi was good, too. We had 7 different rolls... asked for soypaper, remove this, add that... switch this. They were accommodating... and the roles were all good. Even very good.
But that's not really why I'm giving this review.
One of my kids has some gluten and lactose issues... they just rolled with it... no annoyed looks, no hesitation. If the server didn't know an answer on ingredients... she kindly asked a manager.
But that's not all. I partially gage service by... if I have to think about my drink, or ask for a refill, or feel thirsty. They were on-it! Not once did I have to ask. Cup got low... boom, there's the next one.
But that's not all. The complex order was nailed, the hibachi cook did a great job and was fun and personal... as hibachi should be.
The bill was large, and the tip reflected both the incredible service as well as the "whole package".
... I was a regular before the new owners, when this was Fuji. It faded. This is our 2nd time at Koi since the new owners took over 4 years ago. The 1st time to Koi was good enough to give it another try... let me tell you, after this 2nd experience... I will be a regular with Koi.
We were a group of 8 with very specific order modifications, and they handled it like a breeze, and all the kids commented how great it all was (which is rare).
Thank you, Koi, for a great Father's Day dinner and experience!
I wish I had...
Read moreWe arrived at 8:20pm on a Monday night and as we we're about to exit our car a worker rushed to the front door to flip the 'open' sign to 'closed'. We were stunned to say the least and tried to figure out what to do. In the end, despite the bright neon 'open' sign above the door still blazing strong, the freshly turned 'closed' sign made it clear we were not welcome.
Our best guess was that they hadn't had any customers in a while and decided to close up shop early but never officially closed and weren't prepared for any more diners. All in all it was a very strange experience and it was quite off-putting to have the door literally shut on us with more than an hour left until their posted closing time (9:30pm).
I guess we'll have to try again another day and hopefully they'll let us...
