Stephanie's International Cafe — Restaurant in Sandy

We have come here several times and not had a bad experience until today. Came in today for lunch and all but one table (people were sitting at) was dirty. Waited politely and once we were sat down we waited to get a menu which I had to ask for. There were people that came in after us that were given menus and were giving their drinks order to the waitress. Not sure if she is a new waitress, but for what I know about waitress/waiter etiquette is that you serve the people that come in first. The waitress proceeded to assure us that our order would be put in before the people she assisted before us that came in after us. Then she walked behind the counter and made a comment to her co-worker about her needing to take our order first because we weren't willing to wait. WHAT???? When the waitress came over to take our order she didn't like the fact that my friend ordered for me because she kept asking me if that was for me. Our food came out and my friends food was cold and wasn't correct...ordered country potatoes and got hashbrowns instead. Didn't want to bring it to the waitresses attention due to not wanting to have it be put into microwave to be heated up. Not sure we will be going back any time soon. Very disappointing 😞!! My husband and I ate dinner at Stephanie's tonight. We have been eating there for years. We have recommended Stephanie's to many of our family and friends, but we were very disappointed in the service tonight and have been the last couple times we ate there. We keep going back because we hoped the service would get better, but it hasn't. We always feel rushed because the staff wants to go home. Their hours vary, It's hard to know when they are open. The waitress has a bad habit of rolling her eyes when we have to ask for the rest of the food that should have been served with the dinner. I wish the waitress would stay at the table and get our drink order before she walks away. Be sure and read the menu really good. There are items charged on your reciept that the waitress should tell you about when ordering. These things should be listed as such on the menu. Don't nickle and dime your loyal customers. Me and my guy dont live to far from this café so we decided to give it a try. My expectations were fairly low because most of the food in our area tends to be pretty dismal. We decided to try out breakfast. The menu was huge, with a good selection of breakfast items, including a daily breakfast special. Surprisingly, most items were reasonably priced. We both chose to try the corned beef hash and eggs which also included hashbrowns, and choice of toast or 1 pancake, or French toast slice. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. When our food arrived we noticed that our eggs were cooked perfectly, and the corned beef was made from scratch and served hot and crispy. Additionaly, my french toast was quite tasty, although my partner said his pancake was ok, but a bit rubbery. All in all we were very pleased with our breakfast, and plan to visit Stephanie's International Café...
