I wanted to like this place, they have a lot of other good reviews. My personal experience was with a $70 takeout order, we got a few entrees and a few appetizers. The food looked beautiful, but tasted like it was frozen at one point, mainly the meats, tasting stale and reheated like leftovers. The salad I ordered, cost me $8.50, it was wilted, & sour like Kombucha so I'm going to assume it was in the refrigerator for a while to get so sour and wilted. The fried appetizers tasted like they were fried in oil that hasnt been changed in a long while, burnt tasting but the food was not burnt. Maybe if you go in and sit at their tables they make the food fresh but, everything we ordered tasted like I ordered it a week ago and left it in my fridge to go bad. Their food would be better if they were not taking so many shortcuts. Throw things out when they go bad, make things fresh to order for your paying customers. Your customers are giving you a lot of money to get food that would have been better had they gone somewhere else where the cooks and owners cared about the final product. I was genuinely disappointed...
Read moreIt was a Monday at 3:30 pm when I got here. I'll call it up to perhaps preparing for dinner, but the place was empty- not enough staff. It took about 2 mins for someone to peer out and get me seated.
I ordered their Red curry. I expected it to be think and creamy and very coconutty, but it was not very thick and creamy. There was no staff for the duration of my staff except for the matre de who came by and cleaned tables for about 4 mins. The straw for the water was the same height as the cup which was annoying. After I was done and the check brought, no one showed up to collect the payment for several minutes, and I was ready to head out.
It might not normally be this way, but this was my experience. This time anyway. We'll see if that changes - IF I get back here. It's not a place I frequent. So first expressions might have...
Read moreThai Mango is tucked away in the High Point Center retail zone. If you don't know it exists, it's really easy to drive past it (I know from experience).
I ordered the potstickers and massaman curry. I enjoyed the potstickers; it comes with a unique soy-ginger sauce that's really good. The massaman curry was good, but the potatoes and carrots were undercooked.
The service was great; one matron who ran the show. She was very attentive and made sure we had what we needed throughout our visit. There was a strong smell of cleaning chemicals when I first arrived. It went away after a few minutes, but it was pretty noticeable when I entered. On the plus side, the place feels pretty clean.
Overall, there are better Thai restaurants with lower prices, and that was my big...
