Do not come here hungry! Come here when you crave a small bite of b-rated bbq and have lots of money to waste. The two stars are for the two awesome people taking care of us. They were awesome and not their fault the photo below shows what $51.00 buys you at this mediocre at best BBQ joint. She tried her best to pack in as much Mac and Cheese into the small container as possible and was even giving out 3 Cole Slaws for the price of one when she saw they were under filled. The brisket was dry, the beef tips were smothered in some syrup sauce that is a clear indicator they don’t trust serving the natural flavor of the smoked meat, the chicken was meh and super wet saucy. The ribs were cooked great just literally no flavor, I had to dap it in their hot BBQ sauce which was actually the best thing on the table. The guy came out and handed me a free sample of their chicken corn chowder…see how awesome they were? It was very good by the way! But THIS place is THE reason I struggle to eat BBQ out anymore. The owner must be loving the profit margins but there is a reason there was only one other table with a family of four beside us on a BEAUTIFUL Sunday! We literally grabbed more food at The Station whose wings and other food are always sooooo awesome! This is definitely a “concept” place not a down home, great quality for a fair price place. Yep, that pic cost us $51.00 no drinks just water and I meant what I said abt the food quality. Whoever owns this place has no idea what quality is…I want to support small businesses but this is just making him richer. I’ll stand by to see this place close up…. Oh yeah…just like the fast food joint Subway Subs, they literally use a scale to measure their portions😂😂😂 Ever see that in a real smoke house? The owners way of keeping his profits in his pockets!

3 = It’s okay. This plate cost $28 for 6oz of brisket, 6oz of burnt ends, and two sides. Is the cost worth it? Does the food quality and flavor match what you would expect $28 to taste like? I have to say no. Does it taste good? The Mac & Cheese is excellent and the burnt ends, though over sauced and didn’t have time for the sauce to caramelize, were pretty good. I love veggies but not those cold odd green beans. The brisket has potentially especially if it was in the hands of a better skilled cook. It wasn’t bad, but it could be better especially if it was better protected from oxidation while it waits for someone to come buy it. The staff is friendly but the environment of the restaurant has an odd “We are one late bill away from having to shut this place down” vibe, BUT…maybe that’s because it’s a late lunch for me and everyone has left? This is my 4th or 5th trip to Fuel over the last 4 years. They do well enough that once a year my curiosity makes me wonder “are they really good now?” But each visit doesn’t make me go “I need to come back.”

The atmosphere makes this appear to be a promising venue. There are plenty of outdoor seats and a small indoor area, with the main cashier/ordering center inside of this cool garage door entrance. The theme was a bit steam-punk, and with a small select menu, I expected this to be absolutely amazing. Focusing all their attention on the few items they offer. But - It was just okay. The portion of protein was smaller than I expected for a BBQ joint. I mean, usually if you're ordering BBQ, you expect a feast. The meat was tender but dry. I'm not a sauce person, but the sweet sauce definitely helped elevated the appeal of the pulled pork. My husband got the chicken, which had a lot of grisle. I understand the portions are by weight, but that seems unfair when parts of it are inedible. I hoped to try the Mac and cheese, but I didn't want to pay an upcharge for that side. The fries I got were freshly fried and tasted great.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fuel BBQ in Sanford, Florida, and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the moment I stepped into the old gas station converted into the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the meal to come.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the burnt ends. These mouthwatering delights were simply out of this world. The moment I took a bite, I was transported to barbecue heaven. The burnt ends were incredibly moist, and the flavor was unparalleled. They had the perfect balance of smokiness and sweetness that made them truly addictive. It's safe to say that these burnt ends were the moistest, sweetest meat candy I've ever had the pleasure of tasting.

Aside from the burnt ends, I also tried the smoked Mac n cheese and collard greens, and they did not disappoint. The smoked Mac n cheese had a rich and creamy texture with a subtle smoky flavor that elevated the dish to new heights. The collard greens were cooked to perfection, offering a tender yet slightly crunchy bite, and the seasoning was spot on.

The service at Fuel BBQ was exceptional as well. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish.

One thing worth mentioning is that the portion sizes at Fuel BBQ were generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. The prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food provided, making it a great value for barbecue enthusiasts like myself.

In conclusion, Fuel BBQ in Sanford, Florida, is a hidden gem that deserves recognition for its outstanding barbecue offerings. If you're a fan of perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful meats, their burnt ends are an absolute must-try. Pair them with the smoked Mac n cheese and collard greens, and you have a meal that will leave your taste buds dancing with delight. With excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere, Fuel BBQ is a spot that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable...

I do not feel like this restaurant is worthy of a review of any sort me and 3 of my friends went to this establishment to try a new restaurant in the Sanford area we decided to try FUEL BBQ. So we walked into this place and ordered our food which was all on one bill. The prices were expensive the portions small and terrible service the girl that took our orders was rude and full of attitude. when we received our food it was cold the pulled chicken had bones and fat in it and the $8 half chicken that we ordered was very small and served cold as well when I sat down at our table on grab the hot sauce to put on my beef brisket and the hot sauce was watered down which ruined my food all of us were unhappy by our experience at this place let me just say this you would have a better meal if you go to 711 or McDonald's don't waste your time or money at this place the food sucks and the owner does not keep his word after our experience at fuel BBQ I made a public post on Facebook explaining all this and the owner immediately contacted me and asked for chance for us to talk and work this out he told me he would give me a full refund and wanted his establishment to have a second chance I said okay no hard feelings I took my post down off of Facebook as I told him I would do he said that he would leave my name at the registers and all I had to do was come in and pick up my full refund however this is been going on for almost a month I've been to his place three times once it was closed the second time he was not there and nobody had any idea of what I was talking about and then on my third visit I discovered that he only gave me a $15 in house refund that was not part of the agreement the full bill was $38 plus I traveled from Orlando to Sanford three times only to discover that he wasted my time did not keep his word I spent more on gas and my time than $15 worth of in house a complete waste of my time effort and gas I would highly recommend nobody eat at this place yes I'm pissed because I believed in the owner only to get played by him and screwed...
