What an unfortunate experience we had tonight after visiting this seemingly upscale establishment. This place has a wonderful atmosphere and while the rest of the staff was perfectly accommodating Gabriel will be the reason I personally never come back. From the moment we sat down Gabriel made sure to let us know that at 1am they're doing last call - no problem, "it sounds like we made it just in time", I said with a smile. After waiting our turn to place an order we asked Gabriel if we could please have two Long Islands and after a few moments he returned saying that they don't serve those. I turned to the menu to look for an alternative and suggested that they add that to the menu in the future, and without missing a beat this employee looks right at me and says, "well you don't have to be here and can just go somewhere else". I've never been so disrespected by a "professional" in my life, and immediately got up to leave because he was absolutely right. Before leaving I asked for his name, to which he responded, "don't worry about it". At this point I've now become upset and asked to speak with the manager, and Gabriel decides to leave the floor and retreat to the back of the house. I asked a coworker for his name and to please get the manager, and she was very polite and professional in doing so - however rather than making a scene and letting an utterly rude employee ruin a perfectly good night, we left without furthering the situation.
Management, having an employee tell customers they don't need to be there and can go somewhere else simply for wishing you served their favorite drink, is not okay. You've lost one customer tonight, and I truly hope this raises awareness so that others do not have to have the...
Read moreWalked across this place and decided to go inside as it looked inviting. This place does not serve food, only beverages. I asked about a wine list. The bartender stated they had a very limited wine selection. Both wine and drinks were on the pricey side compared to other establishments in Sanford. A shot poured was less than 1.5 ounces, which appears this establishment is cutting corners at the customer's expense, but they have no problem charging $18 for less than a regular pour for a shot. If they are going to charge $18 for a shot, they should pour at least 1.5 ounces. The decor is well put together for the most part. Very cozy sitting areas. A nice electronic fireplace is in the back. I could go without seeing the grotesque giant picture of Elon Musk on the wall. I don't want to enjoy a drink during my free time looking at his face. I am happy that I tried this bar, but I will not be a returning customer based on the expensive prices for drinks, lack of value for what you receive, and this really isn't a place if you want wine due to the very...
Read moreI would give this place zero stars if I could. We walked in on a Saturday and found only about eight people seated at the bar. Despite this, the bartender never greeted us or acknowledged our presence — instead, they repeatedly walked past us to assist other guests and engaged in conversations with everyone except us. There was even a baby at the bar, which was surprising.
After waiting for quite a while without any service or recognition, we decided to leave and headed to The Basin instead. The experience there was significantly better — great drink selection, fair prices, and friendly staff.
One thing that stood out to us: my husband and I were the only non-Caucasian people at the bar. While I can’t say for sure that this was the reason we were ignored, it was hard not to notice the lack of acknowledgment despite being...
