Mel's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Santa Barbara

I very rarely leave a review but this is outrageous. Bar was adequate but when it came to paying the bill the card machine didn't work. So we tried another card and then waited patiently whilst they messed around with systems and restarted etc. Then the accusation we didn't have enough money or there was a problem with our cards. Yes clearly two Swiss bankers visiting a dive bar with a top of the range car, a million dollar limit card alongside UBS and Credit Suisse visa cards (having travelled here for 3 weeks without a single issue) cannot pay a 40$ tab. My final attempt to be helpful was nearly thwarted by a "helpful" bar employee who assaulted me by pulling me back from the card machine that her colleague asked me to pay with saying it wasn't allowed to be there? Where I come from physically touching someone is illegal as well as the height of rudeness. Genuinely puzzling at what a #### experience it turned out to be....

People that visits this club cannot park in this area. They are very disrespectful 12am -3am in the morning blasting music starting conflict when there is people sleeping they pee outside near our cars offer minors drugs,. Bother the residents in this complex. Being disturbing. And disturbing peoples peace I tried calling the club, and for some reason the phone is disconnected, but the club is open so if your car is parked in this area & your disturbing other peoples peace and ect.. , I will indeed call the police and take pictures of your license plates to get...

This might just be the cleanest "bar" in the county. Great music and place to catch up on the games or news. Their burgers and other menu items are amazing. Nicole and some of the other bartenders are fantastic and remembering names and treating you like a regular even though I only visit every other month or so.
