THE SERVICE HERE IS ALWAYS GOOD NEVER A PROBLEM. Unfortunately Friday April 1, 2022 I wasnt feeling good i have been experiencing numbigness through out my body and am also healing from my march 11th, 2022 Gallbladder surgery i also have problems with my back etc from my car accident from 2019. As soon as i walked in the restaurant with my childrens father this woman at the table in the entrance who i do not know had a look on her face like a guilty look like if she knew me. I do not know the woman but i have seen her boyfriend around and im pretty sure ill see them around again. I am 35 this couple is well over 35 possibly in their early 40s but the woman made it a problem as i was trying to mind my own business and she turned the uncomfortable situation into a problem. She was looking at me after we had been seated and she then was whispering to her boyfriend and he looked at me making it so obvious that she was talking about me making fun of me judging me when she doesnt know me in the first place. They were acting so immature i could not believe that they were acting like little kids. Im over here worried about my left arm being numb that i could possibly have a heart attack while this people acting like little kids for no good reason. They ruined my morning and breakfast. Out of respect because they were with an elderly woman i didnt react to the situation to put them in their place. Im not sure if they are regulars i wish i would have asked and told them how immature this people were and how uncomfortable they made me feel. I should have even walked out and had the tab be put on them for ruining my breakfast. The guy afterwards was the one acting immature by loudly saying in spanish lets go my lady and afterwards walked past our window and still starring at me. Nobody has time to be dealing with immature people we are all having hard times coping with all of the covid new variants dilemma no one has time to put up with immature people or extra bull weve all been through more then enough. Maybe this people are the type of people who judge people for their looks etc thinking that they are too good. God help this people have some sense. OTHER THEN THAT ALL CAJUN KITCHENS IN SANTA BARBARA AND GOLETA HAVE BEEN EXCELLENT WITH THEIR SERVICE AND...

So-so for the gumbo. I’m pretty particular about gumbo as I grew up eating fele gumbo as a kid, we are Cajun so this stuff is my lifeline. Not so much at this place. Pretty spicy which is fine, but it had a very earthy taste, like dirt, not in a bad way in a sense, I just think they added the fele powder on top of the rice not giving it much time to soak in. I did add some salt for flavoring, but it still wasn’t really good at all. I was hoping for something decent, but not really happening. Parking is tough as they don’t have many spots, but I got lucky, just unlucky with the flavor. I only saw a couple of other items that I thought would be Cajun, it it appears as though they are heavily influenced by Mexican food and good old American breakfast items. Not too much Cajun going on. I wouldn’t expect that I’d be back, maybe I should share my fele recipe so they can flourish in the...

We are local Santa Barbarians and Cajun Kitchen is our favorite breakfast place! Any of the locations are as good, and the service is friendly and the food is great! When I read bad reviews about the place, I imagine these are people who have never been here before and had something circumstantial happen. It happens once in a while, everywhere and in life. Perhaps these folks had different expectations. Or maybe they just have a need to complain. I have been here hundreds of times, and it's consistently good. It's popular, so if you go on the weekend, sometimes you have to wait for a table. I like the French Quarter Omelet w/ spicy sausage, avocado & Feta Cheese. Cajun Kitchen wins the "Best of Santa Barbara" Best Breakfast every year, voted by the local community. Proof is in the pudding... I think...

Do you want the best breakfast/brunch in Santa Barbara? Go to the Cajun Kitchen. It’s not fancy but the food is delicious and generous in its portion size. The service is impeccable- often refilling my coffee and water. Also it didn’t take much time to have my food ready to enjoy. When I used to live here I often had breakfast here yet I didn’t venture past eggs and sausage. This time I wanted to order a meal that I can’t get easily where I live now on the east coast - huevos rancheros. Wow! I plan to return at least a couple of more times before heading back into near zero temps.

Be careful! If you order bacon & eggs, you might not get the bacon. If you ask for separate checks, you might not get separate checks. If you want a second cup of coffee, you might have to ask for it. No worries. Wasn't charged for the missing bacon. Knowing math, was able to split the check. And asking wasn't the problem. It should have been offered. The food was as expected. The atmosphere, though loud, was as expected. Guess increasing server wages and adding benefits wasn't the answer here.
