Wine therapy is like almost cool, but epically misses the bar. They have all these games which is fun, but interesting rules. For example, you can’t build with the domino blocks but can with the Jenga blocks. Also you can’t play cards there, you can’t have big groups, and the bartenders want groups to stay for an hour max. The manager seems to be the one enforcing these particular rules, and the bartenders were made to tell them. The staff were honestly kinda giving me weird vibes, and making me feel nervous and uncomfortable. They also made my group of 7 move from one table to another similar size table? Not really sure why, maybe because they wanted the couch for a different customer? I’m not really sure but it felt kinda unnecessary and a little rude. I wish this place was more chill, because they try and present that vibe. Wine therapy has chill outdoorsy decoration, but uptight management that enforcers unclear and uncomfortable rules. I feel like they tried to make a unique and quirky Santa Barbara local spot, but created an upright bar for tourists and cringe millennial men. Also one of the guy bartenders with tattoos and dark hair kinda smells...
Read moreThe drinks are good here but it’s not worth being harassed. Nearly every interaction I’ve had with their staff (besides at the bar) has been aggressive and rude. Last year, when I politely called to ask if people under 21 could enter the person who answered the phone was incredibly demeaning. I then politely asked if they offered a happy hour (they did not at the time) and the man rudely informed me that “they’d restart happy hour when they could afford rent.” Of course I totally understand the stress of the pandemic and I didn’t have any expectations for either question, but the interaction made me feel so bad for even calling.
Fast forward to this year, and now TWICE the bouncer has refused two of my friends with Real IDs for completely arbitrary reasons and gotten aggressive about it. At this point it’s just kind of embarrassing because now he’s 0 for 2. I’d honestly love to come hang out at Wine Therapy - good drinks and fun customers - but I’m not really down to...
Read moreQuite literally the greatest place in the world. First off, the staff are absolutely fantastic, considerate, and friendly. They are incredibly personable and definitely knows their drinks. Best of all is the OWNER. To keep it short, let's just say I had a little... moment after some frose but Eryn (I think that's how you spell it) who is the owner of Wine Therapy took the time to check up on me and make sure I was safe and okay. You literally cannot find this kind of treatment anywhere else! Hospitable, extremely kind people, amazing atmosphere, and quite literally the cutest dog in the entire world. Nothing is better than being surrounded by good people, a clean place, fresh food, the nicest owner in the entire world, and a chubby dog. I had such a wonderful experience. THANK YOU for making my night so special. Just a word to future guests: those Frose drinks are soooo good and that's what makes it dangerous! Be careful with them, but DEFINITELY get one- you...
