We've often gone to Larsen's for celebratory meals over the past few years, and have never been disappointed. They are in the same style as Morton's and Ruth's Chris, but after eating at all three places recently, my wife and I both thought Larsen's easily was the best. They have a wide variety of cuts, both dry and wet-aged, there are non-beef options (never tried those since I'm there for a good steak). There is always at least one tempting special - our most recent visit they had a Chateaubriand available that sounded wonderful, and while we both were anticipating a dry-aged filet, we discussed the special instead for several minutes before making the difficult decision to decline. (There really was no wrong decision possible there.) The bar and wine list are well-stocked (my wife is a big fan of the Blueberry Lemondrop), and they offer all of the side dishes one expects in a high-end steakhouse, plus a few. They recently added a purple cauliflower gratin, which was fantastic, and makes a great alternative to potato dishes if you are eating low-carb.
Service has always been fast and impeccable, with just enough friendly banter to make you feel welcome without seeming intrusive. Occasionally the chef will make the rounds, and it's interesting to hear how he prepared some of the trickier parts of your meal.
We're very happy to have Larsen's in Santa Clarita, and they have won us over to the point that we don't even consider driving over the hill into LA when we want a great steak. In fact, we have done the opposite. A few months ago we were in downtown LA and wanted a steak dinner to celebrate a milestone event. Despite a Morton's being a few blocks away away, we decided to drive home and go to Larsen's instead. We're...
Read moreFirst off, the service here is fantastic. I made a reservation for 5 with my family and was quickly sat down. The server quickly came and took our drink order and quickly brought our drinks, then we took our order. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some good recommendations. 3 of us got the prime rib, (they have prime rib specials every Sunday) and my father ordered the salmon. When ordering the prime rib they asl what kind of cut you would like for the prime rib. It was a choice between center or edge cut. Everyone opted in for a center cut. Also, we got a side order of lobster bisque and jalapeno Mac and cheese. Also, to start they bring you bread to munch on while waiting for the food. So we waited a bit and our food arrived and everything was fantastic. Prime rib was filled with flavor and we all opted for a 10 oz. cut and it was surprisingly big. The prime rib also came with a side of fries. They give you an option between regular seasoned fries or Cajun fries. I suggest everyone get the Cajun fries. They are not spicy at all and they are packed with flavor. As stated before, everything was delicious. Lobster bisque was amazing. Jalapeno Mac and cheese was phenomenal. Prime rib was delectable and also large and filling. My father loved the salmon. Everything was great. Service was great and speedy without feeling over the top like some places do. The prices are a little on the high side, but this is a high end restaurant, so it really shouldn't come as a surprise. Also, the prime rib special is not too expensive. 100% worth the price. If you are craving a good cut of meat that is packed with flavor and don't mind spending a little more than usual then you owe it to yourself...
Read moreFor my wife’s birthday we decided to visit Larsens Steakhouse. To begin I would like to say that Larsens exceeded all of our expectations, delivering an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was inviting, setting the stage for a remarkable evening.
The stars of the show, our amazing server Christian & the delicious steaks, were nothing short of perfection. Cooked to absolute precision, each bite melted in the mouth, revealing layers of rich flavor and tenderness that could only come from the highest quality cuts. The lobster was equally divine, succulent and flavorful, perfectly complementing the steak with its delicate sweetness, savoring every bite dipped in a small tin of melted butter.
Accompanying our mains were a selection of sides that elevated the meal to another level. From the velvety mashed potatoes to the crisp and flavorful grilled asparagus, each dish was expertly crafted and served with finesse.
Our waiter, Christian, was an absolute gem. His knowledge of the menu was unparalleled, guiding us through our choices with enthusiasm and expertise. He was attentive to every detail, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Christian's warmth and professionalism truly added to the overall ambiance of Larsens.
In conclusion, Larsens Steakhouse is a cut above the rest. With outstanding food, impeccable service, and a charming atmosphere, it's a dining destination not to be missed. We can't wait to return for another...
