My husband, daughter and I went here with some of our family members. I don't know if our experience is going to do this restaurant justice, as none of us (my husband, my daughter and myself) were really in the mood for the type of cuisine served here, but we try our best to make do since we were accommodating multiple dietary restrictions ( some of our other relatives are vegetarian). That being said, my husband and I got agua frescas (smoothies usually made from fresh fruit) I got myself an horchata (rice and cinnamon drink) and my husband had watermelon. I thought the drinks were a bit overpriced, especially considering their size. I also ordered sweet potato fries and a chocolate mousse for dessert. The sweet potatoes were unremarkable, but hey, the restaurant isn't really known for them so no worries there. My daughter got a burger from the kids menu. She didn't like it, but it didn't look like something a kid would eat (too much lettuce and a bit overcooked). The chocolate mousse was surprisingly good. It had a nice dark chocolate base where the cocoa was the star, but there were hints of spices like cinnamon and maybe even a touch of cayenne. Both my husband and I loved this, and we would highly recommend. The chocolate mousse was by far the best part of what we had ordered (spent about $24 here on what I listed). My sister-in-law ordered a quesadilla with vegetables that was pretty delicious (they ordered too much food so we ended up eating some of their items so they wouldn't go to waste), and my brother-in-law had the caldo de res (beef soup) which was pretty good. I think he ordered some fajitas as well, but I didn't sample those so I can't comment on how they were. Overall, my recommendation is if you are going to eat here, stick to the baja style Mexican food and steer clear of...
Read moreTerrible Experience. I placed my order and my math concluded they overcharged my by 20%. I told the cashier that was wrong and he read the order back off to me and it was correct. I paid and asked for a receipt which he reluctantly gave me. I noticed 4 items on receipt that i didn't order and he conveniently left off when he repeated the order. Same guy brought me my order and I brought it up to him and asked him about it and he acted surprised but did nothing so I brought it up to a different guy who first tried to refund me 10% then after prodding he reimbursed me the full amount.
In all fairness: Pros: Very generous kids pricing and portions were huge. Kids didn't complain or eat half of what they got it was adult portions. I did try the rest of my kids burrito as I was hungry and hoping it would be good and one bite and I didn't want any more.
Cons: -Fish Tacos are allegedly some of the best in Santa Fe and any google search will confirm. I thought they were terrible. I ordered three and ate 1 not even finishing it. They nickle and dime you i.e. I ordered guacamole dip and they charged my for chips and a very small amount, you have to pay for refills, you seriously have to pay for salsa a first for me They don't even offer Cheese dip. I've never been to a Mexican themed restaurant and cheese dip isn't on the menu. My wife ordered a veggie burrito and wouldn't eat it said it was inedible. She isn't picky and is always very satisfied if she eats at Chipotle Obviously the opening statement of over charging me then repeating my order back to me and conveniently leaving off what i didn't order is the con of...
Read moreWhat a major disappointment, especially on my first visit! I am new to the area, and after reading an on line article from Foursquare about the 15 best vegetarian resturaunts in Santa Fe, I decided to vist this restaurant. I looked at the menu that was provided on the website, and I phoned in my order. To my astonishment, when I arrived, I was charged an additional $20 over and above their listed menu prices! I was shocked! When I called the major discrepancy to their attention, they said that the menu prices from the website were from 2014. The only problem is, my wife and I had already visited six other restaurants on that same list, and each and every one of those restaurants seem to be able to get their menu prices correct and up-to-date accurate. This establishment has a responsibility to the public to keep accurate and up-to-date information just like all the other restaurants have done. Excuse me, but this sounds and feels like a bait and switch! Very dishonest and poor internet menu managemant.
At time of this post, I have not yet eaten the few food, but with that much of aprice discrepancy, and with no effort on their part to somehow compensate us for this, given that it was my first visit, I seriously doubt that I will return...poor customer service. Fortunately there are plenty of other restaurants in town that have wonderful food, without giving you that kind of a shock surprise when you pay your bill....
