This is a review of the "new" version of La Plancha after moving from Eldorado to the south side. My wife and I ate there with a group of 12 (Santa Fe Foodies), and the entire meal was a great success. I mention a large(er) group because this can be challenging for a restaurant, yet La Plancha came through with all the food expertly prepared quickly, and it arrived all at once. My wife had the Latin Paella, which was fantastic. Now, this isn't what many may consider Paella. Don't judge it like a 'standard' Paella, other than how tasty and unusual it is; more like a Cioppino. It comes with Shrimp, Chicken, mussels, Beef chorizo, Salmon, tilapia & veggies & scallops. All the fish was delicious. I highly recommend it. At least four others in our group ordered this dish; everyone seemed to love it. I had Poblano Del Dia, which is a roasted chile poblano w/ roasted chile arbol sauce, poblano cream sauce, & roasted tomatillo, and I picked Shrimp to go with it (you can order beef or chicken, but shrimp was a great match). This was a beautiful to look at and delicious dish, which is highly recommended. Service was outstanding. The restaurant isn't loud, and it is nicely decorated. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food provided. We live in Eldorado and ate at La Plancha several times before they moved; we liked it but didn't really love it. The chef has upped his game since moving; the food is really much better, and we will now visit this gem more often. Well worth the drive FROM Eldorado. The food here is a bit unique for Santa Fe, with many options for Mexican and New Mexican food. The Latin flair makes it a different option, which is a nice change for the city different. If you've never tried La Plancha, you should, and you tried it when it was in Eldorado; it is...

Eating at the La Plancha Latin Grill delivered a soothing atmosphere with a zesty menu. Guitarist Mark Yaxley was playing jazz and classical guitar as we entered and throughout our lunch much to our delight. It set the tone for a really good lunch experience. We ordered the Cubano sandwich of pressed grilled pork, ham and Swiss cheese served with homemade kettle chips (Delish!) and Pork Ribs served with homemade citrus BBQ sauce, green rice and black beans. (Plentiful.)The ribs were so tender you could eat them with a fork. Menu choices include Chicken Mole and a Tortilla Club Sandwich among others. Prices run $12 to 15 without beverage though there is a full cocktail and wine menu. We did not order dessert but Tres Leche Cake, Fried Plantains or Chocolate Lava cake are available. There is also a full Kid’s Menu, often can be hard to find. We highly recommend eating...
Read moreI have been a faithful client at La Plancha now since they moved from El Dorado. This has become a weekly staple of mine. I can always count on the consistency of food quality and timing. My favorite spot is at the bar where there is limited seating but I can always change the channel and just have a quiet meal and attentive service. The Latin paella and bison burger are among two of my favorite entree's and the ceviche and wings are excellent. So rare is it nowadays to just feel warm and welcome. Here you truly are family. The bathroom is always spotless and the environment is conducive to conversation with a full iced tea and water at all times. I love this place for it's atmosphere, excellent service, but most of all perfect menu size with great portions and speed of food delivery. Thank you for a great meal every...
