I took my Dallas clients to Modern General for the second time in a month. We had a great avocado toast breakfast (but the mint tea was below average and they do not serve regular iced tea.). My clients purchased a number of items from the store both times. Along with breakfast this second time, they purchased two jars of Ghee, a book, several containers of hummus and guacamole and some fresh corn chips. The ticket was $150 last time and probably around $80 this time, if not more. We found the counter people to be very rude both when we ordered and when we checked out. (the two women more than the guy, the front counter lady was cordial). Because we were headed to the convention center for the Native American Treasures show, we were concerned that the food containers might suffer in the heat, so we asked if perhaps we could have a cup of ice and a small plastic bag to put them in. The short haired woman responded brusquely "we don't have ice. There's a gas station down the corner if you want ice", and dismissed us and went about ignoring us while we stood there dumbfounded. Read moreWas looking for a fresh juice in Santa Fe, remembering we loved this place last time we visited Santa Fe, we came in on a quiet Sunday afternoon. It seemed like no one was working, no one came to counter or greeted us. We realized there was a group of young women sitting in the back behind the counter just hanging out talking. Finally a young woman came out, didn’t greet us just stood there staring at us blankly, we tried to order juice and she said ‘we don’t have juice’ in a flat barely audible tone, we asked about shots and she said ‘uhh that’s included with juice’ finally we ordered a smoothie. When she was finished making the smoothie she just plopped it on the counter and walked away. We are ourselves business owners and thought wow if we owned this place we would definitely want to know our employees were so indifferent and unwilling to engage customers which is why I’m leaving the review. The experience was so off putting that we put the other items we planned on buying back and left. It really seemed like they did not want us there and so we were no longer willing to spend any more of our money at this place. Hope it gets better...
Read morePlease- your front staff is AWFUL! I ordered plain toast and reiterated NO butter three times. Then the toast comes out with grease. I told them I said no butter. She said well let me see what you ordered and did not believe me. Then, she tells me to leave. I said but this isn't my fault. I have had this happen with drinks I have ordered, like Cappuccinos and Cold Brew. I'll ask for a tab of oat milk and it looks like a Latte. Then they get mad at me as if I did something wrong. Today she told me that I always complain. If they don't listen to an order, that's on them. I LOVE your food but left today in tears. I WILL NOT BE BRINGING fiends there anymore. Please reconsider how your staff speaks to customers-and how they understand orders--we are the ones paying and are not the ones to blame. My lunch was ruined. A waste of my time, money and energy. I also think you should FIRE the two younger women who were working the counter. THIS IS NOT the first time they have basically given me the side eye and I do see them...
