Pizza Centro - downtown location
I’ve been coming to this location for a few years now, and the pizza quality has steadily deteriorated. Here’s my story: one day in 2016, I was here with family and ordered a Brooklyn pizza. One of the owners (it might have been Jason, not sure) happened to walk by our table and check on us just as the server gave us our pizza. To my surprise, he immediately apologized for the quality of the pizza and took it away. The family & I didn’t see anything wrong with our order until he returned 10-15 minutes later with the most beautiful, most delicious pepperoni Brooklyn-style pizza we had ever had in our lives. No joke. We never knew pizza could be so good. The crust was delicious and baked evenly to lightly browned perfection, and the fresh ingredients literally burst with flavor in our mouths. To this day, I still don't understand how the owner could have produced such a mouth-watering delight in contrast to his staff's chewy, greasy, basic pizzas. I literally never forgot that experience. Hoping to repeat it, we have come in again and again only to be disappointed. The pizzas we routinely get are about on par with Papa John’s pizzas but cost more. In our opinion, the best pizzas in town are the take-and-bake ones from Papa Murphy’s. I can't really recommend Pizza Centro because I don't believe it deserves its reputation as a great place for pizza. Note: this review does not apply to the Pizza Centro on...
Read moreOn Tuesday at 1:10 pm, I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza, cost almost 5 bucks. After waiting SEVERAL MINUTES, I was served a very small and burnt slice... I looked at it and said something about it but I was told that it would be FIFTEEN MINUTES for a fresh slice. I had already waited for almost TEN.
I HAVE BEEN A REGULAR LUNCH CUSTOMER FOR A LONG TIME, but the service AND the food has become an increasing DISAPPOINTMENT 😞
I called BOTH locations that afternoon, and asked to speak with the manager, never heard back from him. Nathan is the name I was given, I gave MY NAME AND NUMBER, and never heard back.
From now on, I will be going a block away to Bruno's........ They have very large and fresh slices and actually incredibly friendly service.
I'm telling ALL MY COWORKERS AND FRIENDS to avoid and even BOYCOTT pizza centro in the Santa Fe Design Center.
Nathan, you're losing some...
Read moreJust visited the downtown restaurant in the Design Center with my husband. We were sadly disappointed. There were only one other couple in the restaurant so the three people working so there was no reason for bad service. Pizza ordered was soggy in the middle probably from too many toppings piled on top. The greek salad ordered was nothing but a pile of lettuce with a bunch of black olives and feta cheese piled on top with three over ripened slices of tomato on the side. I complained about the sorry looking salad but my complaints were ignored with no offer to make it an actual greek salad. The three young people working there seemed to be too busy gossiping at the next table to care about any problems. Oh yes, when we slid our chairs back to leave, there were ants crawling around under the table. Needless to say, we will not...
