I have been a regular customer at A'Romas since the early 90's. Until I moved to Forestville in 1996, I was in there at least twice a day and have been in anytime I was in the neighborhood since then. I love the place and have never had a single bad word to say it until now. The last time I was there was May 21, 2021 and the coffee was so hot that the flavor was destroyed and it's been that way for the last 3 or 4 times I've been in there. I talked to the person who makes the coffee about it and she said that the unrs were scrubbed out regularly. I said that the problem was that the coffee was way too hot. She seemed to be totally uninterested. A'Romas was my favorite food and beverage establishment in the entire county. I am heartbroken. They don't seem to be interested in rectifying the situation. UPDATE:I went back on June 29, 2021 and the coffee was at a normal temperature and tasted great. Everything was as fabulous as it used to be....
Read moreI'm sorry. I know this is a local institution to some. But it's time someone said it: "We deserve a better local coffee shop." There are many reasons for this. Yes, it nice to have something besides another Starbucks but Aromas please make it easier to love you!
Rude service, high prices, just bad food and so many RULES here. Once kicked out a Deaf friend with her legitimate card carrying certificated assistance dog! Ice Cream counter: gone. Share a bookshelf: gone. The high prices and somber attitude/atmoshphere remain. Ok say somerhing positive! Um, Chai shakes are good ($6), local art, open late (wasn't it midnight not long ago, now 11 and pissy if order anything at 10:30 ok sorry back to positives) and not a Starbucks! In short: Aromas we want to love and support you, can you make some effort to make that a little eaiser please? Thanks.

Read moreWow! I’ve been going to independent coffee houses for decades. I have never found one I liked as well as this. One of the things I liked about it was finding my first piece of excellent cherry pie. I’ve never really liked it before because it tasted like jarred cherries and the crust wasn’t very good either. This pie had a delectable crust and was obviously made from fresh cherries. Boy, could you tell the difference! We had some organic Nicaragua coffee that was built as medium dark. It was as bold as most dark roast we’ve encountered in other coffee shops. My husband, a baker of delicious scones, praise their scones as even better than his own. They charge for a 2nd cup of coffee and free use of a credit card. That allows them to optimize their profits in a way in which they can be a superior quality shop. Great food and great coffee. They also open are for lunch. I’m considering that. 3 cheers...
