Khoom Lanna Thai Food — Restaurant in Santa Rosa

We were the only ones for the first 20 minutes we were here. It took us 10 minutes to get waters or even drink orders. The water tasted like musky well water (I drink tap water and live close by and it was definitely not the same). We ordered the spinach wrap appetizers first (per a recommendation). They were basically any garnish you could think of in a leaf of spinach including lime wedges with the rinds on which were under all the other ingredients and if meant to be eaten as you don't see them, take away from all the other garnish ingredients. Just not good. I ordered the Jungle Curry with mixed seafood. The seafood was rubbery yet the veggies were in huge cuts and seemed very undercooked. There were also a ton of green peppercorn vines that I was pulling out. Eating mouthfuls of green peppercorns is not tasty (in my opinion) and you can't break them up but why would you even want to sit and do that and the amount of them took up a lot of space in my dish. I am a huge fan of curry but this curry was not good or satisfying. I couldn't eat much of it but got a box to be polite. My boyfriend got the garlic basil lamb and thought it was very good but was convinced it was beef (lamb has a very distinct taste). He was also still hungry. Since he is a server and it takes a lot for him not to tip, he still tipped the server a normal tip bringing our total to $60 (1 tea for a drink). I deliver orders for them frequently; they are a preferred hotspot...they are always super polite to me and love the fun masks I rock, but I was quite disappointed to have a different experience this evening.

I was in between orders tonight and had to pee, so I politely requested to use the restroom (I was dressed extremely well, too, and was actively logged in, waiting for orders — hoping to get one for there!); once they understood I was not there to pick up a current order, they were happy to point the way.

However, when I was coming out, thanking them, one of the ladies said, "Only this time, okay?"

I said No, and that I would not have used the restroom at all if I had known there was any issue, on my way continuing out; I doubt they heard or understood, though.

This is a nicely decorated restaurant. The decor is authentic, the staff are nice, but the serving sizes are small! I ordered the Chicken pad Si-ew lunch special to-go. As I waited for my food, I noticed other patrons dining-in being served. Each dish that passed was on the smaller side, but I still had hope of receiving a decent serving of food for lunch. Well, what you see is what you get. Upon taking the bag of food in my hand, I noticed it was extremely light. Once I opened the box, I knew why. There was barely any food in the large box. The salad was good, but it's salad, so you really can't go wrong. The entree however, were not the best. This is not to say that it was nasty or disgusting. It just was nothing to brag about.
