Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Saratoga Springs

This is a very well managed Chilis. We have been to this Chilis location loads of times since they have opened and they have always given us happy, prompt service, tasty food, and fantastic prices that are cheaper than fast food prices. This versus any other option out there for the price, is better every time so we keep going back. Everywhere else is a rip off for what you get. And their service usually sucks too, but Chili’s has your appetizer to you within in 5 mins easily, sometimes 2- 3 mins has been our experience, and our meals have been to us within 7-10 mins easily. Sometimes even 5 minutes!! That’s faster than drive through. Then comparing prices, you can’t even get fast food meals for less than $12-20 anymore. But at Chili’s you can get an appetizer, drink, chips and salsa (if you sign in with your phone number and are signed up to be a member to get free chips and salsa- takes all if 2 mins), and an entree’ for 10.99-16.99. There is no comparison! Then you have amazingly well trained wait staff there. They are quick, friendly, do their check backs, constant refills, offer boxes, will do take home drinks if you ask and take home chips and salsa if you ask, and they are so kind. Any other restaurant, they have someone else drop off the food and you never see your servers again after they take your order. Service is lousy pretty much everywhere nowadays that we have been except Chilis and they have an entitled attitude expecting a 25% tip for doing nothing! Not at Chilis. They earn their tips and they are sweet and do not act entitled, which you then are excited to tip.

Others that may have an issue here or there with a waitress or a food item is a one off occasion, because that is not the norm. Most likely that staff member has moved on and is replaced with someone who has the desire to be there, now. We have gone nearly every week at various times and days for many months now, and we have witnessed the steadiness in the great service, food, cleanliness, atmosphere, and prices. This all points to good management. I don’t know who the manager is, but he/she seems to be handling the restaurant very well compared to just about any restaurant out there. I do have my degree in business management and I did used to work in restaurant management years ago, so I do identify things very easily that are working in restaurants. Things are successful here versus the empty ones across the parking lot! I did notice a bad review that had a photo of food that has never even been served at Chilis. So read the reviews with a grain of salt. Some may be bitter employees perhaps that were let go...

I brought my elderly parents in for lunch. My father is in a wheelchair, and my mother, while not in a wheelchair, is elderly and cannot stand for long periods of time. We don't mind waiting to be sat if there is a wait. When it was time to be sat, the host tried to take us to our seat, however there was not way the wheel chair would have fit through the isle so I suggested taking another route. (this store is not handicap friendly at all.)

The next route he tried to take us had a waiter down on one knee going over the menu with his table blocking the way for anyone to pass, and he was not a big person. What I found rude was that he never gave way for the host and us to pass. The host could have said something but didn't. We must have stood there for close to ten minutes. Finally the host took us through the bar walking us the longest route possible to our table.

Our waitress was great. However when our food came, half of my mom's dinner was on my dads plate, and half of his dinner was missing. When our waitress came to check on us and looked down at our plates she looked horrified. I ordered the secret sauce burger and when it arrived, I kid you not, it looked like a McDonald's cheese burger that had been stepped on. The shredded lettuce didn't even make it on the burger but surrounded it on the sides. It was honestly as if someone had a nine month old baby make our burger.

I asked for the manager, who seem to have a bit of an attitude and was full of excuses, she didn't seem to see anything wrong with the burger. I understand that everyone there is new, but any rational person with the smallest shred of common sense, would be able to recognize that this was unacceptable. We weren't asking for a free meal, or anything of that sort. I was simply trying to bring the issue to the manager so that she could correct it going forward. I conveyed that to her, very politely and she still very much seemed to have an attitude.

Be professional, and leave your personal issues at home, and provide customer service to the people who come in and pay for a pleasant dining experience. We will never go back to this location. It was absolutely in every since of the...

Food: I ordered the carne asada fajitas- the meat was extremely gamy and chewy, my entire plate was a can of plain black beans and overdone stovetop rice with a cheap tiny peace of meat I couldn’t chew through with a weird watery cilantro dressing ( it claims on the menu it was pesto).. I would have requested a new order of meat due to it not being edible, but our server never came back to the table! We first ordered the unlimited chips and salsa that was never refilled after the 1st drop, empty drinks before the food arrived, watered down ranch for our salads, we kept waving down help but everyone avoided eye contact because it was too busy I am guessing? when the food did arrive we asked the food runner for more chips and salsa and refills on our drinks, they stated “they would let our server know” but our server never returned with any refills??? After 45 min of waiting we grabbed the table device and paid, we left my husbands disgusting undercooked chicken sandwich and my under seasoned and gamy meal untouched.. went to costco and got a pizza slice for $1.99 that ended up being more filling then my meal that cost me $21.98 at chillis.. The whole experiences was so disappointing, this was my first time at this location, I was so exited to have a chilis in Saratoga Springs but with another disappointing menu change, operational change- we felt rushed like “how fast can we get this table in and out with the lowest point of contact”, our servers neglect and pure laziness Its hard to reason on ever coming back.
