I tried Victor's with some dinnertime takeout, as I absolutely loved the old Victor's which is its' namesake, and unfortunately my experience was not as good as I had hoped. I also am not in the habit of writing negstive or mid level reviews unless I really feel compelled to, so it says a lot that I'm writing this. With the old Victor's, I would order a Chicken Broccoli Ziti, or Shrimp with Linguine in garlic butter sauce, and could barely finish it, or had a 2nd meal out of it. That justified the cost, along with the brilliant flavor punch the food had. I was a frequent customer, and even would order their trays for company functions. Unfortunately as soon as I picked up the bag, I knew this was not the case with their new iteration. Upon opening the order of Shrimp Scampi, my brother who was onlooking, compared the size to an appetizer or somebody's leftovers in a doggie bag. I unfortunately say this quite literally, but there were only approximately 5 twirled forkfuls of linguine in the container. The container was literally less than half full (picture attached), whereas it used to be completely stuffed and nearly uncloseable with pasta pressed firmly against the lid, and there was a substantial weight difference. I finished the meal with ease, and had had a Big Mac 2 hours prior, so it's not like I was ravenous, and I followed it with some leftover lo mein. Massive difference compared to a meal I used to not be able to finish routinely.
The flavor was good, better than many other local restaurants, which is a positive, and you can taste the previous Victor's methods in it, however it is more like a distant cousin or shadow of the past, as it doesn't have quite the flavor punch the past version did.
If the pricepoint was cheaper, I would say I would have give them a 2nd chance some weeks in the future, but paying $25 roughly for what I received makes it not worth taking the risk on what equates to a lunch portion sadly. My family was disappointed, but glad that we didn't all try it at once and were only out the cost...

Girlfriend and I decided to try this place last night since it’s newly opened, the crew went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of (we had the male server with glasses and earrings, he was very very professional and deserves recognition). The food was great and contrary to another review I read, neither of us were able to finish our servings and had left overs. My girlfriend doesn’t like hummus but shared my opinion that theirs was fantastic. We will be coming back and took a few brochures to pass to our friends in the community :)
Our only “critique” is we wish they had a wine menu, but the place allows you to bring in your own bottle of...
Read moreHad dinner at the new Victors Mediterranean and it was great. Chef Jeff (from Saugus) came out to talk to our table of six and is clearly putting a new spin on Victors old favorites while adding some new and delicious dinner options to the menu. The seafood options were excellent and the service was top notch (Thx JoJo). Our entire group was very happy with our appetizers and dinners. Love, Love that they still allow BYOB and kept the prices reasonable! Great addition to Rte 1 dinner choices, we...
