03/03/21 3:06PM: Placed mobile order.
3:23PM: Arrived at restaurant, got in drive-thru lane with 1 vehicle ahead of me. When it was my turn at speaker, I informed them of my name and that I had a mobile order. I was instructed to bypass drive-thru window and pull forward to wait by the trash can.
3:43PM: An employee comes to my window and asks me what am I waiting on, as if they do not have my order, have not been preparing my order and as if I did not check-in whatsoever. Despite them having nothing to write it down on, I repeat my order.
4:00PM: Since the lobby doors are locked, I call the restaurant and politely inform them that I am still waiting (35 minutes after my arrival) for my mobile order. I am told, "It's on it's way out right now."
4:01PM: I received (what I thought was my) order. Proceeded to drive home.
4:10PM: Over an hour after placing my mobile Popeye's order and leaving my home to go to the restaurant, I arrived home, only to find my order is almost completely either wrong or non-existent. As evidenced by the attached photos, I ordered a 14pc spicy chicken tender family meal, a ½ gallon of sweet tea and a cinnamon apple pie. I received a 14pc regular fried chicken, a 5pc biscuit and a large macaroni and cheese in my bag.
4:13PM: Called the store, explained my wait, and how the order was inaccurate. I was asked if I wanted to return to the store for a remade order and if I could bring back the fried chicken so they "could account for it." I was told by the assistant manager that she is dropping fresh tenders right now for me.
4:21PM: I arrived at the restaurant, waited in the drive-thru for the 3-4 vehicles ahead of me. Once at the speaker, the order taker appeared to know my situation, stating thry were "the one who took your order." I wanted to ensure that the restaurant understood fully what was missing from my order so I asked, "Would you mind if I repeat the entire order for accuracy?" and was told to please pull forward.
CIRCA 4:31PM: I arrived at the pickup window. I explained my situation. I was asked if I could pull off to a parking spot… I politely declined to pull from the pickup window, explaining how I waited 35+ minutes previously only to have my order forgotten and then given the wrong order.
NOTE: The order delivery person was extremely calm, polite and helpful. I commend her on her excellent customer service.
The assistant manager whom I spoke with over the phone, who promised she was dropping tenders for me, did NOT ever come to the window to apologize. Instead I could hear (through the drive-thru pickup window) them speaking to the person whom, at 3:43PM, came to my vehicle to ask for my order… This employee implied that I had said I ordered a 16 piece, biscuits and a macaroni and cheese. With all due respect, THIS WAS A MOBILE ORDER! YOU. CAN. LOOK. IT. UP.
On this return visit to fix the order, I only one-on-one dealt with the order delivery person at the window, who listened so patiently, empathized with me and took care to ensure I had everything that I had ordered before I left this time.
Those fresh tenders that I was promised? I never received them, as the tenders, fries and biscuits that I got were neither hot nor freshly prepared. I was however given a gallon of sweet tea vs. the half-gallon I ordered, which I appreciate.
Plain and simple, this store needs new management. It is almost like the employees aren't being trained to look at the order receipts, neither when cooking chicken nor when bagging or sending orders out the door.
And mobile orders? Are they not coming up in some system, to the point the customer has to repeat an entire order verbally, entirely defeating the entire purpose of placing a mobile order in advance?! (I had the same experience with a mobile order at the Merrillville, IN, location a few weeks ago!)
A typical fast food establishment can look at the comparable weekly sales and have a general idea that X number of people will order Y food on Z day. This location rarely has food ready to go and thus, it's drive-thru order...
Read moreI came here last night to get some sides. I specifically asked for my french fries to be fresh. The guy at the window intentionally handed me a bag of cold fries. I guess not thinking that I will check my order. Then I told him at the window that I went in my fries fresh he proceeded to tell me that all the food is made together And giving me a bunch of excuses so I repeated it myself and told him that I wanted my french fries fresh and he got an attitude and eventually gave me my fresh fries… THEN and you can do the research yourself this location prices are a lot higher than other Popeyes weather is by a dollar or two their prices are higher than the original Popeyes! If you go in that Popeyes, you will see why the prices are higher in that community and it’s not because of the quality of food. I would advise staying away from this Popeyes and going where your money is respected and less of a hassle.
On 04/03/25 I tried to give popeyes another try getting off work.. i asked for fresh fries… just to get cold fries! The gentleman at the window (i believe he was African) told me pull up and it would be 5 minutes for the fries. 2 minutes later a young caucasian male came out with a bag of fries,he threw the bag with an attitude. I asked for a receipt and he told me i would have to circle back in the drive thru.. i looked in the bag and it was the same fries still cold , the only thing they did was take the fry sleeve out the bag.
I reversed my car and told the African guy what happened and he was apologetic and gave me fresh fries but never gave me a receipt.
It’s sad business like this don’t appreciate customers. Throwing food at a customer is never okay and with an attitude! I won’t be back and I hope yall take yall money elsewhere because this establishment...
Read moreThe staff was rude and arguing with each other which is why they were inaccurate with orders. The staff was very unprofessional. I had a coupon for 10pcs mixed and while I am aware there is an up charge for changing the coupon ( I wanted all dark) the restaurant was all out of biscuits and I thought the polite thing to do would be to let me get the all dark due to them not having an important part of the meal available. My food then was rung up wrong causing a longer wait after I had already waited fifteen minutes to order. I asked for fries as a side they were dried out and hard , no biscuits and the Mac and cheese seemed old. My order was wrong so I had to wait for more chicken to be made while the girl at the register proceeded to argue with me about why she got the order wrong saying “ I didn’t hear that I’m only human”. There was a supervisor on duty that seem to not care about the restaurant or the customers due to her having her kids run around in the lobby. I even witnessed the girl taking the order arguing with a customer after me. The entire experience was bad! There are three Popeyes I have access to in my area and they all have terrible service but the one I went to today in scherville IN was by far the worst experience I have ever had! I used to consider this Popeyes the best of the 3 and I’m extremely disappointed!!! I will never spend my money here again! And I will tell everyone that ask to keep their money and go somewhere else!! I work in customer service industry I always have so the one thing I know is how to treat people and people will forgive a lot of things as long as they are treated good but I was treated horribly AND the restaurant was dirty AND the food...
